One question, how reflective is the octagon piece that sits in front of the actual bulb?? I really want to paint it black on the outside, the inside is just a dull grey and I didnt know how much actual light reflected off the part you can see, I figure not much if any at all.

I would probably agree with you. I'm sure the center piece surrounding the bulb is only chrome because it matches the rest of the chrome headlight.

Sounds like yours are gonna kinda look like mine Jon. My bezels are gloss black. But I'm adding a turn signal at the inside corner. I really need to finish the last one and then reseal them up, run the wiring and install them so I can use my euro grill.

I thought about doing this (turn signal in the shroud piece), but decided I want to leave my grill and smoke the clear lenses. I am also going to paint my bumper lenses gloss black, since for some reason the passenger one no longer works, I have tried everything from tracing the wire to replacing bulbs, I think maybe the socket is bad.

Afternoon HN!

Yay Jon! Glad to see you painting your headlights!

I have been busy trying to get every part off the SVT that I could because it went to the salvage yard today. They gave me $175 for it, I am happy with that!

Thanks Brian, if the forecast of 57 degrees holds up tomorrow, they will get painted, then put together Monday and on the car Tuesday. I dont want to rush it. They are Depo brand and I figured they would come apart easy, 10 minutes at 230 degrees in the oven, and each came apart after the first time in, VERY easy to take apart. It took longer to take them off the car, remove the bulbs and pull the outer seals on them!!

Need to think about getting rid of the Kona to a junk yard. :( Have taken a few of the only transferable pieces out like Speedo and radio bezels, light switches, headlight switch, dash vents. Thinking about pulling the motorand head to keep for a build. Getting it out is a whole other story.
