I'm out.... Ripped off a shitty email to China my body is fried like my headlight lol. later
[hatchet][hatchet] [V] Let us know what happened when you're back.

I was talking about Cylinder Head Pressure. Take 14.7psi, add boost pressure, multiply by compression ratio.
Brake mean effective pressure for the 2.0 L ecoboost GTDI engine is 2051 kPa or 297.5 psig at 5500 rpm and the current horsepower peak.

The 2.0 L GDI Ti-Vct at 6500 rpm and 160 hp has a brake mean effective pressure of only 1101.78 kPa = 159.799 psig.

Of course that's spread across all cylinders, both engines have the same displacement, etc.

Brake Mean Effective Pressure (BMEP) is another very effective yardstick for comparing the performance of an engine of a given type to another of the same type, and for evaluating the reasonableness of performance claims or requirements.
The definition of BMEP is: the average (mean) pressure which, if imposed on the pistons uniformly from the top to the bottom of each power stroke, would produce the measured (brake) power output.
Note that BMEP is purely theoretical and has nothing to do with actual cylinder pressures. It is simply a tool to evaluate the efficiency of a given engine at producing torque from a given displacement.
Oh great you made me use math, and now it killed the room.

OUCH!

If it isn't totaled, ST conversion time?

Alright Im still awake can't sleep after the headlight bs. Hooked up retrosolutions hids and dropped both headlights in plugged them up and.......badass. A minute goes by while waiting for the slow start hids to reach full brightness the passenger brow goes out. Look at the front and the halo is still lit then the brow flickers back on then does the half power dim then fade to dead. Pulled the rubber cover off the back and it stunk like only burning electronics can. so the turn signal and upper brow are toast but the halo and hids work perfectly. nice cutoff on the projectors too. Anyway old ones are back in waiting for the holiday in China to be over. F in epic fail

That sucks, but does that mean although they look well assembled that the wiring and or electronics were not good? I wouldn't want to condem them on the basis of one bad unit, but if they also don't stand behind them when they fail that would also be a pretty big demerit. Apart from the cost I would want the o.e. ones personally, because they'd been tested and were supposed to be proven durable before being used in production. I'm not as sure the testing procedures on those were a quarter as thorough.

Once it starts to release the "mysterious" blue smoke electronics stop working.

Hoping to test one side skirt tomorrow to check the installation procedure.

Ah man how I love that smell - sucks [V] no it really sucks [V][V]. No problems with stockers??

And proof that sedans are functional...side skirt fits fine.

I'm not a huge ST front end fan, so if it's not totaled i'll probably leave it as is, maybe try and get some black housing headlamps.

Crap dude!!? Too bad insurance doesn't cover mods! Pleas define LSx.
Yep, luckily I didn't have too many mods yet. By LSx I meant GM generation 3&4 V8 engines. Came in tons of platforms and i've done many a build on them. But I really did love the focus, It would be hard to change platforms.

Taylor? - you still there - get an email back from the suppliers of the lights? Hope they get replaced ASAP.[pray]
Could you post pics of the damage? I'll show my Chinese light guys what happened[V]

Morning everyone [wave] evening James [wave]

That's what I was thinking! If I can get one at a decent price. I've been into LSx platforms for so long too though I might end up in something else
Dunno bout the dealer out there but the ones at my dealer have NO mark-up [thumb]

if you talk to the shop fixing it, have them get you the TI headlights, since they are fractionally cheaper lol[thumb][thumb]
