So I did another fuse pull over the weekend... Luckily voice commands seem to be working fine for now, knock on wood.

Still got the consistant reindex/bmc.

Another thing I noticed now is I have a sd card plugged. When I say sd card it prompts for which device, and list two sd cards.

1 works fine, 2 returns device not found.

There are serious problems going on between the mft and the console input modules. I have a feeling alot of the problems are related to this, because they all involve external inputs.

In addition other owners on here reported usb ports randomly changing names.

I haven't experienced SD problems but before I got voice working a while ago (and it may be the same now, I just haven't checked in a while) the voice command "USB" brought up my iPod fine. The voice command "iPod" (yep, that's what I named it, original huh?) brought up the fact that it was detected in multiple USB locations and gave me FOUR lines. Saying 1 was fine and saying either 2, 3, or 4 all gave me device not found. Interesting that we only have one SD port and it gave you double that number for yours and we only have two USB ports and it gave me double that number for mine.

Yep that is what I am pinpointing...
There is some communication error between the MFT and the console. There is absolute no reason it should be doing that...
That could be attributing to the issues we are having with our devices.

BTW car is back at the dealer, but this time they gave me a rental so atleast I don't have to worry about not having a car.

I just got my car back from the dealer trying to resolve my MFT issues. Turns out my car was built as an export to Switzerland per Ford hotline and my VIN.

Dealership conclusion is the software loaded on my car (North American) may be causing my problems....

Now to figure out how to resolve this issue...

Time to do more testing to see if things are working.
:(

Already lost the TDI features.
Tech mentioned possibly losing Sirius as well, but as of now I still have it.

Also received my car back and the front windows will not auto up/down anymore. Rear windows working fine.

the power window is an easy reset you can do yourself.
Is the reset procedure in the manual?
Haven't checked yet.

So far the MFT is very responsive. Fastest it's ever been.

The tech purposefully left out TDI because the hotline told him not to install it since the car is an export.

I'm in the process of double checking my tags on my music and then loading it onto a Cruzer (on Sync's compatibility list) to test out the entertainment features.

yes, its in the owners manual.

i wouldnt put the Cruzer in just yet, use the system for a while first in case ur problem is coming from your music files, u might have a corrupted music file
Well that is not really testing it then...

Other features of MFT on my car has always worked albeit really sluggish.
Even in previous tests without anything paired/or drives hooked up, it never performed like it is now.

Holy crap it indexed 118 songs in 25 seconds, BMC in 15 seconds.

Voice working almost instantly.

Welcome to my club estoyloco! Hat's off to Ford and your dealership for figuring out the problem. Very good news, indeed.

There was a mixup somewhere and I ended up with an export build.

I had NA software installed on it though so probably software incompatibilities played alot in my case.

But as long as it keeps functioning like this then atleast I will have a functioning unit until I can get this mixup resolved if even.

Edit: Restarted my car again about 8 hours later.
Index/BMC in 20 seconds total... definitely never acted like this before. I even put on more songs on the thumbdrive more than before.

So my current conclusion is incompatible MFT software was installed previously. Definitely going to keep monitoring but still positive initial results.

With the export build, does that mean some of the hardware is different or is it just a software thing? Why doesn't the TDI info work?
Well as far as I know everything in my vehicle was supposed to be US features.
I thought European versions had different features and hardware in it.

But all I know is right now my MFT is working smoothly and the primary difference so far is not having the TDI installed.
In addition, I just noticed that 911 assist is part of TDI, so I no longer have that feature as well.

This is a bummer because I actually started using the TDI more. And I would love to have the 911 assist if I ever needed it.

As for the TDI it worked before, I got all the turn by turn directions on my screen and via speakers etc.
I guess the MFT is built on different software packages. The tech guy said hotline told him to just install the base os, the wallpaper and language package.

I'm going to have to wait until Monday to talk with the Ford rep and the company I ordered the car through.

Can anyone who know how to read French, look over at the Ford Switzerland website and see what the differences between

The American Focus 2012 SEL 303A vs the Switzerland version are?

Ok here area a few things that does not make sense about my car:

1 - My window sticker has "Export Only 7" at the botton of it.

2 - Sirius was an option added on the sticker as well (from what I am told that is North America only)

3 - Was ordered to be delivered to stateside dealer

4 - Came from the factory with NA MFT software installed (TDI + 911 included)

5 - Hotline says the VIN was manufactured for export only to Switzerland and cannot have the TDI + 911 feature installed. Yet it came installed from FACTORY.

Too many conflicts. I hate that I can't get anything done over the weekends.
The one thing that the company I ordered through did state was they could have confused the order as an export because the headquarters of the company is in Switzerland. But it was stated that the car is supposed to be US.
So it might be as much as getting the VIN updated to reflect US vehicle on Ford's end.

Though I never thought I would run into a problem like this or even thought this would have been an issue when I picked up my vehicle. I mean if it was "supposed" to be export only well then it was missed both at factory and the delivering dealership.
The extent of checking I did when I picked it up was, check VIN on car make sure it matched. Check to see if the features I ordered were present on my car. Never bothered or even noticed the export only until I checked it again Friday.

Oh in the process of getting my car serviced... I now noticed that my side panel of the center console/dash now has a sizeable gap and the panels do not line up perfectly as before.
In addition the panel itself seems loose.

Luckily I had taken several photos of my car before ever even taking it in, and I have a shot of that panel in one of the pictures.

Another fine example of " Ford Factory trained technicians" pride in their work.[shhh]

OMG, that is horrible service. You shouldn't need pictures to prove how out of whack that panel is though. It's frickin obvious. The worst part about all of this is how little time estoyloco has to keep going back and forth to the dealership to get all of this crap taken care of. Why did they need to remove that panel in the first place?

I'm guessing to access the system or something.
