[headbang]So I am in the middle of fixin some damaged 04 focus zx3 rims, I got cash and traded the guy my old set of enkie RSV, the enkies were on my gf focus wagon but she wanted more tire "the ride is to rough" women, lol. So i now have these 04 rims which inturn were the rims i had been looking for(yeah me). I have read the how to wich was very good write up, I just want to know if any one had some other tip and tricks. I am going use black wheel paint, and finish it off with a nice satin clear coat(I don't want it to be shinny I like the flat look). Any input is well appreciated. Will post pic as I progress.

What I did was trial and error o learned some things along the way, I pretty happy with the out come so, best advice to u is take ur time on each coat, I got one run in the paint and I am still repairing it, as far as the jb weld, I sanded done the rough parts using 100-150 grit, then I cleaned the surface, use air and some sort of degreaser, then apply with a spatula, I used an old credit car, sand down the are were there damage to the aluminum, while feathering out around the damaged area, use a heat lamp or halogens to kinda let it dry faster, then let cure of night at least 24 hours u. Can't use to much, if u do u sand it off later. TAKE YOUR TIME EVERY STEP ;-) GOOD LUCK, pm if u got any quetions

so here a pix of one rim after last coat, before clear coat, this rim i had used the jb weld on it!

These are the two rim i used jb weld on!
Pix below is one of them i finished, i cant even tell were i did it at, U can see how i feathered out around the jb weld spots. use a primmer before u spray your color! I use a flat black and am using a stain clear coat! I want the dull look, use a glossy clear to make it shine, oh and as far as rattle can if that the route u go get paint for rims, or a hight temp paint, and Find the cans with the horizontal or vertical spray, it make it way easier to cover the rims. good luck

Looks great! Although, it probably would have been a good idea to get those tires dismounted before painting, that way when you are ready to put the new tires on there's less chance of the tire shop damaging the new paint.

This is, of course, you plan on replacing those bald tires before you slap them on your car.
