i got motor mounts put in today. i was driving my way home and i was at a merge stop sign. the sun was real bright and i turned my head to check for traffic and hit the throttle thinking the guy ahead of me took off. sure enough he was right there so i whacked right into him. radiator is pushed back to the header. no pics.

Wait...so you rearended someone coming from a stop?

Wow...that caused that much damage huh :(

Sucks to hear that...especially after you had just finished putting in those mounts

if it's totalled, take lot's of pics, and post it in B/S/T forum... dibs on the pedals, and shifter and e-brake boots.... glad you're ok, and i'm not trying to be an ass(i just re-read my post and realized it might sound like i'm being an ass, but that's not the intention) i'm just saying, you can make some money back if it is totalled....
dibs

usually if the insurance company totals out a car. they take the car and give you a check for the value. which a lot of times on these cars if you're still paying on it, is far less and then you're stuck paying out of your pocket for a car you don't own anymore.

Ive encountered similar damage years ago in my zx3. I lost control at 45 into a ice/snowbank. Radiator was busted, core support, fans, etc etc. Was a 2500 fix through ford. I'd be suprised if you managed to total yor car from a stop.

The adjuster or insurance person is coming out today to determine if its totaled, however, I do have a $500 deductible so it all depends. I'm going out right now to take pictures and look at the damage. I've been feeling better since the accident but still I'm in disbelief with everything that happened. My first accident, too

That shouldn't be totaled. I had more damage when i hit a deer. We have a 98 Toyota Tacoma at work that has $6,000 worth of damage from rear ending a Honda and it didn't total. Looks like all you need is a hood, grill, bumper, intake snorkel, core support, radiator, a/c condensor, radiator fan, maybe a header, and maybe headlights (hard to tell if they're broken).
