p0133- slow circuit response. (bank 1 sensor 1)

what does that mean?

thats one of the codes that came up when i got my inspection.

code p0135 (front o2 sensor) got replace

code p0141 malfunction.
but attemted to do the trick of an o2 cheater on focaljet

but it didnt work.
or should i have them reset, then see if it comes back?

p0133 is for your front O2 sensor and if you've had it replaced then you should reset your pcm by unhooking your negative terminal for 10 minutes

sometimes codes don't go away after fixing the part.

#3 ·
well i had, p0133, p0135, p0141
which is two bad o2 sensors, and then the circuit slow response one

#4 ·
yeah just disconnect your stuff for like 10 mins, and let your car "reset" She may act a lil goofy since everyone was put back to day one and "your driving habits" havent been stored in memory, such as Long/Short fuel and such like that.

Another thing too... Where did u get your 02 sensors? OEM or did u get like the Bosh autozone type.

#6 ·
yeah my car is a little remedial haha

ok well i heard of a rear o2 sensor cheat.
where you take a malfunctioned front o2 sensor and plug it in the back. and the CEL will go away and et cetera.

it was on focal jet.

#8 ·
And BTW front and back sensors are different!
You can't just exchange them.

#7 ·
if the battery reset doesn't clear the code
Check fuse 18 - Heated oxygen sensors, a 10 amp (yellow) fuse box under the hood.
In the 2002 owners manual this is on pages 220-221 Power Distribution Box

Let me know how it turns out for you

ok so the battery thing didnt clear my CEL

#10 ·
CEL wont go away

so ive replaced the front and rear o2 sensor so i can pass inspection.

i disconnected the battery and reconnect and turn my car on and the CEL is off. drive it 5 or so miles to my destination.
then when i start my car again to leave the CEL comes back on.

but it was throwing the codes
for bad sensor (bank1 sensor 1) & (bank 1 sensor 2) or something like that.

so i replaced both the o2 sensors.
do i just have to drive it for a little bit to make it go off?

i need help asap!

#11 ·
I'm curious about this as well. I'm throwing the same CEL (although it seems to turn off during stints of colder weather and then come back on when the days get over 40 degrees) and have done everything short of replacing the Cat Converter....

#12 ·
firstly... are you getting bosch sensors? if so that's what i did and i kept getting the same problem. Got motorcraft and fixed. Bosch has never worked for me more than a couple days.

#13 ·
i got bosch for the front one and then NTK i believe on the rear.
the ntk looks exactly like the oem ford ones.

#15 ·
p0133
p0135
p0141
thats the three that came up when i originnaly went to get my car inspected

#16 ·
Try clearing the KAM then retesting. Once the codes come back check the resistance (preferably with a scan tool) and make the repair. The codes are in regard to a slow responding circuit, not a low reading. Also check your short and long term mfuel trim. That will tell you alot about what the sensors are telling the pcm.

#17 ·
uummmm what a KAM?

im confused

#18 ·
and the p0135 and p0141 is for 02 mafunction

#19 ·
You might want to get the vehicle scanned to see what codes are coming up now, after the O2 sensor replacement.

If you still get the P0133...

P0133:

If the code comes back, the problem is more than likely the front Bank 1 oxygen sensor. You will likely wind up replacing it but you should also consider these possible solutions:

* Check and fix any exhaust leaks
* Check for wiring problems (shorted, frayed wires)
* Check the frequency and amplitude of the oxygen sensor (advanced)
* Check for a deteriorating / contaminated oxygen sensor, replace if necessary
* Check for inlet air leaks
* Check the MAF sensor for proper operation

Might want to try cleaning the MAF.

#20 ·
ive already replaced BOTH o2 sensors.
before and after cat

#22 ·
how do i check for exhaust leaks?

and i have no idea what codes they are throwing yet

#23 ·
KAM=Keep alive memory.
Exhaust leaks are usually audible but you can also smow test it if you have all that gear which I doubt, so start with the cleaning the MAF and checking for intake leaks which can be done with propane or brake cleaner.

#24 ·
well how do i clear the KAM?

#26 ·
yeah i know. disconnecting the - makes all my presets go away and my CEL.
so i turn the car on after reconecting and the light is off. so i turn my car back off. had the car running for maybe 10 seconds then hour later come back and the CEL will be on.
so idk
