Before eveyone tells you to search...

Here's my opinion:

Sounds good for being a factory option. It hits hard for being that little. I liked it more than some of the other set-ups i had. I am pretty sure it only hits lows.. unless you wire it wrong like i did, then it'll play only highs. lol. I am unsure of the specs but i am sure there is something somewhere about it. Try looking under the Audiophile Upgrade thread, i think they mention in there the specs on it.

I just did the swap on my ZX5 and i love it.....WAY better than before and it does hit pretty had and looks nice and tucked away...

 

It does hit the deeper resonances but I think the sub really shines with rock/pop music. The sub really reproduces bass drum notes like nobody's business.

 

I'm considering getting myself the SVT enclosure here soon, but I dunno if I am going to try and get it with the stock sub or get an aftermarket 8" sub.

 

I'm going to replace mine with a higher end 8" that doesn't have a paper cone.

Does anyone have measurements of what the depth is for magnet size by chance??

 

The enclosure is nasty shallow. I couldn't find a decently-built 8" sub from anyone that would mount in the stock box... Max mounting depth is something like 4 3/4.

 

4 and 3/4"? That is stupid shallow....Polk has got some nice looking 8" subs that might fit but I'll have to check the specs on those to see if it will work.

 

i forget the volume of the stock enclosure, but you would want it close to what you plan on throwing in there needs. the stock sub has a mounting bolt through the back of the enclosure, threaded into the speaker. which means you would have to plug that hole somehow before you throw another sub in there. just throwin that out there.

i have the stock enclosure, sub, amp, and carpet cover i am going to post in the BST section soon. gotta take some pics. i had the stock sub connected to my JL amp and it sounded decent. nothing like my 10W6V2 though!
