Wow damn that is way to much for a gas filter change. Those shops awlays over charge. 40 bucks for an oil change ehhh no i got a 14.99 oil change and new filter.

i have to change my fuel filter as well.

 

Here's what I got on the open road.....

412 Miles and the gas light came on the needle drops pretty quick after a 1/4 tank.

BUT, Mixed Driving I get between 320 to 340 per tank. [wiggle]

Got my fuel filter done a couple weeks back, it was the last major thing to do as far as MPG. Before filter- 27ish. After- Finally getting the 30 I want to see. Quite pleased.

 

Why am I getting only about 200 miles on a full tank in my 2004 SVT? The tires are fine and I drive a lot on the freeway doing under 65. I used to get upwards of 300 or more per tank. Is there something specifically that would cause such a huge loss that I could have someone look at? (Not a car expert)

 

I would check the basics first.
Vacuum leaks?
When was the last tuneup?
" " " " O2 sensors replaced?
" " " " alignment?
Is the 2 stage intake working correctly?
Are the brakes dragging when were they checked last?
Cat clogged?
Rodents in airbox?
I've seen it all.

 

geez i get 27mpg and im around 2500 miles per month

 

Im getting around 25-26 highway and city combined.

I change my plugs every 15000 miles i run coppers at a gap of 0.060 better burn., and a SRI.....

i am carrying alot of weight in the rear due to carrying alot of tools and junk.
