Should I circumsize my Focus?

Today I got my Magnaflow exhaust installed. Sounds great and everything turned out fine... buuuut I get the feeling the exhaust sticks out just a little too much. I need some opinions on whether I should get the tip cut by 1-3 inches, so it's more flush/tucked into the bumper. Here are the pics to help you decide...

The last two angles is what bothers me the most. It seems to stick out too much when viewed from the passenger side rear. But from a driver side head-on profile it looks alright. I've asked some people at work and they seem to think it's okay, and that I shouldn't get it cut. I have a shop appointment penciled in for tomorrow morning, so I'll have to make my decision soon. So yeah... I just wanted opinions. Thanks.

PS: If I had a rear SVT bumper (to match my front) the rear diffuser would probably help solve my problem. But I don't want to have to pay for another bumper and have everything repainted all over again. I'd rather try to stick with stock and possibly get the thing cut for $50 if I decide to go that route.

And here I thought you were gonna get a short shifter...

Nah, leave the tip extended. Then you can say to people, "See? My Focus LIKES you!"

I would actually have that tip cut off and a completely different tip put on. Mine is completely flush with the bumper "looking from above, you can't even see it" kinda thing and my "bumper hasn't melted onto the tip" yet. That's just silly talk.

Haha, thanks guys. But wow, now I'm getting a little paranoid... bumper melting? I'm starting to get used to it now, after a little driving around, but something about the back still doesn't look completely right.

Anyway it looks like the votes are close to 50/50 on cut or uncut. But it's still early. I'll see what it's like by tomorrow morning and decide by then. If I do get it cut I'll post some picts of the result (for curious minds).

Sweet ride, man. I guess the more people post pictures with their mufflers sticking out the same way, the more comfortable I feel with mine. LOL! I think I'm just secretly hating the stock rear *cough* bench *cough* bumper, and wish it was an SVT one. I'd rather have it be a little thicker/lower in the back, like maybe with a rear lip/diffuser or something. Oh well I'll get over it and start focusing on performance mods.

I may save the $50 after all and put it towards a dyno tune sometime in the future. Since I drive an automatic I figure a tune will help give my Focus a good kick in the ass. I'm too big of a wuss to go with a CAI (since I've read quite a few hydrolock stories on here). I also need to get some deep scratches fixed up at the edge of my driver door (previous owner banged it up and some of the metal is finally flaking out).

I'd "snip the tip". Personally, I like the flush look.

NO it's fine... golden rule is: has to be tucked in more than the bumper... which it is. I had the same feeling for mine, when i got it. Then i got used to it because it's doesnt stick out past the bumper... that being said, it will grow on you and you will like it!

Looks great buddy!!
