Same as above along with the counterweight, got mine at Hilbish (nothing against CFM).

Easy install, great mod. I thought I was going to break the shifter off shifting hard into second with the stock set up. With the STEEDA shifting is great. It is my favorite mod so far.

i have the CFM adjustable with the counterweight removed. man the car shifts its self... and if it says it is for the SVT it will work with your car all SVT have 6 speeds. get the CFM you'll be very happy with it. i got mine on e-bay for 139 shipped...

OK GOT ANOTHER QUESTION
if i do buy a CFM STS how do you take the counterweights off

why should you be ashamed everyone's svt is unique clean, dirty, or modded out, its what you make it

does anyone have the specs on the STS from those different companies because they all claim its the shortest throw out there and i want to get a good quality one for a good quality price

First of all... the people with the Focus Central stubby have what was listed as the Race Shifter.

Now for a pic of the Focus Central Race Shifter, Steeda Short Throw, and Factory.
Notice the Steeda has longer likage at the bottom where the pivot point makes the distance. A short shifter and a short throw shifter are different designs. You can cut the factory and rethread and have a short shifter, but the movement is still the same.
Also the Steeda is tapered more so Reverse is a little easier if you dont want to do the delete.

would that be the same thing? not looks wise but performance wise

somebody told me that the reason people make STS is because of the weight counterbalancing the shifter and also it has more of a curve towards the driver i really dont want to mess up the shifter i have and then have to pay for it either way i got to buy one

I've also got the Focus Central STS and its WONDERFUL!!

i see that you have the stock radio still i hate that POS it only plays two cds[offtopic] but the sts looks good man i think i will shop around more if i dont find anything decently priced i guess it will have to wait

Wow, I never knew I had such a rare shifter! Thanks for sharing. (copying image for later reference)

I have the Steeda/Ford Racing shifter on the way this week already, but there is one thing I'm curious about. The stock shifter makes for a great relaxed arm position with it in 6th gear, almost like you've got an armrest. It's great for the highway. Am I going to lose that comfort with the short throw?

No you shouldn't. I commute on the freeway everyday to work with my hand on it in 6th and its not uncomfortable.

This is one of those "back in the day" items. Focus Central doesn't exist anymore, but occasionally you can find one of their goodies floating around the web. eBay, Focaljet or FocusFanatics, sometimes Craigslist. Keep your ear to the ground and, when in doubt, waive a few twenties under the nose of someone known to have one.

i highly recommend the CFM adjustable short throw with the counterweight removed from the transmission. i had the steeda short throw when i got the car, but i switched to the CFM and absolutely love it! i have it at the lowest setting with the Ford GT40 6-speed shift knob custom threaded to fit the focus shaft...all my friends who drive the car cannot believe how great the car shifts! i got three of my buddies to switch to the CFM shifter after they drove mine and could not believe it!!! all three have SVT's. highly recommend!!!

Man I forgot how sick that Focus Central STS looks, nice and low. Why I never got one back in the day I'll never know. I actually have a CFM STS shipping to me now. Hopefully it can get as low as that Focus Central, I'm also looking forward to see how it shifts vs my Steeda/Ford Racing that I have now.
