Most importantly it's a FORD!.. and what Brindfan and Egz said cause I am sure that's important too...plus it's effecient and responds well to bolt-ons from what I've been told and Lord knows I hope so cuz I am bolting on a bunch of parts in a few days.

 

And lets not forget the fair amount of torque on our 2.3's. Feels so nice.

Still new to it, but I can say I'm happy with 32mpg!!! Still got a while to go before I actually get under it... I am happy it's a chain drive motor as mentioned above. I hate changing timing belts, especially since I'll be putting about 200 miles a day on this car.

I've bench raced them! [hah] They dont want to actually race becuase people always say what my car runs.. I know for sure the stupid little spaceship ones are slower.

I LOVE my duratec. 15.6 with a bolt on cat back is A-OKAY with me!! Not to mention a solid 27 MPG flooring on every acceleration.

 

I raced one in the 1/8 mile when I was stock and I edged him out twice and him once.

I'll post time slips in a few days.

 

i guess i don't need to say what already been said 2 or 3 times already. but most of all we can make our own cosworth which ford never did.

Of all things said... I like the torque - that is actually impressive for a N/A car stock. It is even more than the SVT - which is already great!

The name Duratec is also cool. "Dura" latin based for Hard, Long Lasting

I guess the Duratec is a manly engine... and "dang it" it's what women want!

 

Because I've been taking my girlfriend around car shopping lately and NOTHING else with a 2.0 displacement even comes close!

 

#1 Reason I'm happy with my duratec:

My friend with a supercharger SVT says, "man...you've got such a nice motor in that thing," while I think to myself, "man...he's got an SVT, and he ENVY'S me..."
