Rear end wiggle and bad clunking

I have a 2007 zx3 focus, i got it about 4 months ago. When i first got it i had a like new rear crossmember put in because the old one was rusty. After i drove it for awhile i noticed that whenever i hit a bump while im turning to the left the rear end would wiggle. Overtime it has gotten a lot worse and now there is a loud clunk from somewhere in the rear end whenever i hit a bump. At highway speeds it is almost impossible to drive, even just going in a straight line the back end wiggles like crazy. Just wondering what this could be, thanks.

Did you do an alignment when you put a new crossmember on? also endlinks need to be checked. That'd be my guess with the clunking. In fact get underneath the back and make sure every bolt is torque'd to spec (needs to be done with the wheels on the ground so you may need a ramps).

Yes i got a allignment done about a week after. At first after i got the alignment done the car felt normal, but it slowly started getting worse so i took it back to the alignment shop and they couldnt find anything wrong with it. But they just visually looked over it, they didnt take things apart and check everything.

noise and movement could both be due to bad bushing.

Sorry I didn't update earlier, but anyway, I ended up buying new rear shocks. It helped a lot. On the highway I don't feel the wiggle at all, and over bumps going left it still jumps a bit but no where near as bad as it used to be. As for the rattle, I still haven't found out what it is. I realized that I don't even have a rear sway bar, so it can't be endlinks.
