its a street car, we went lower compression just so we can push higher boost more safely.

What’s your goal for boost? Your compression is so low when you’re not in boost the car will make no power till 3500-4000. Just something to think about if you over looked that. I think that’s where tom was going with his questions. One more thing.. I see you have BAP what are some of the other ways you going to handle fuel management? Everything looks good just needs a good tune.

Low compression is very streetable.

A perfect example.
Focus RS has 8.0:1 CR

Ford lightning 8.4:1

8.7 is not low.

 

Yep, but focus RS was making 212hp...so I assume a small turbo to spool it quick ?

 

And 3/10's is not a very big difference from the 9.0 or 8.9 most other MFG's use...

And the Lightning has a V-8, it doesn't exactly need high compression to make a lot of power...

 

If you don't mind... what would someone expect to pay for all of the mods you listed ASIDE from the turbo and labor? And basically they will give about 125 extra hp and torque over just a turbo on a stock engine?

 

I paid nearly 17K for everything on my car []

 

I dont even know at this point i have been collecting parts for the last few months looking for good deals, but probly close to 5k.

After close to 25 hours this weekend the motor and trans are in and the car is driving. It went in pretty smooth, i am going to sleep now but ill have pictures and details tomorrow []

We started on saturday morning and worked until midnight sunday, and its done. It was a pretty smooth install only had a few bolts we couldnt get out, and the axles were a pain because one of them, the threads got kinda fouled up. We dropped the motor out of the bottom of the car and that seemed to work really well. Here are some pictures of the process.

They only snag we had as far as getting bolts out was one of the posts on the ac, so being a good mechanic i just cut it out []

We got it out and the motor and split the trans and found something interesting

The stock diff was missing teeth and the collector magnet was covered in big chucks of metal.

This is where we ended saturday night

Figured it would be the only time i could stand in my engine bay []

Now the motor was dressed and it was time to be put back in

Rally Focus

25 hours later it was back in and running

If anyone is doing this soon and has any questions shoot me a pm and ill give ya some more details and the tricks we found along the way.
