Has anyone done the addition of the trunk button into their 08 or 09 that did not come with the button yet?
or anyone have any info about the button?

Is it just a button with some sort of transmitter that does the same thing the remote does but its just hardwired to the car
or
does it have some connection to something to complete the circuit and pop the trunk?

I still haven't personally seen the button on a Focus yet, but I will soon when I go in for an oil change

i could be wrong but i think it just completes a the ground circuit. you might be able to get into where the latch is and see if there is a wire going to the release mechanism. if there is, i would splice into it and touch a wire to ground and if that doesnt work, try putting 12v to it. then you could run the wire to where you want.

Then buy a wiring diagram book and the "legit" button and figure it out[thankyou]

I hate wiring diagrams cuz I always get confused [V]

I do things by looking at one that's already done :D

That is by far the dumbest thing ever. Our 09 doesn't have it either. When I bought it, I spent 20 minutes trying to find the button... went back to the dealer and they said there isnt one, I was like wtf?? Let me know if you do get one wired up. I have access to an 05-07 round button, if you can figure it out, maybe Ill follow in your footsteps, lol.

Not a bad idea, if it saves 10-20 lives every year. Perhaps not much in the scheme of things, but if you were one of the 10-20, you'd certainly appreciate having it!

"Every year, some 10 to 20 people die trapped in a car trunk, estimates Janette Fennell, founder and president of Kids And Cars, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing injury and death to children in or around motor vehicles. While many victims are kids playing hide-and-seek, many more are adults put in trunks in the course of a crime, says Fennell."
