Hi
Im trying to change pad for my SVTF but pad is stuck on the piston..I didnt want to mess with it so, i didnt try to pull it off from the piston. Ive changed pad for serveral cars but havent seen pad stuck to the piston right this. This is normal?? what should i do??
Thanks in any advise.

The pads are designed to be stuck in the piston on the front pads, at least on my zx3 they are, on the rear I have no clue never messed with an svt's brakes before. I assume the front use the same pad placement design so you may want to look around to make sure.

grab hold and pull, you have had to figure that out by now. on the fronts there is a clip that fits into the piston helps hold it in place. the rears are not the same.

So, you are saying that i should find a clip and take it off frist?
thanks in advise

No, I think what he's saying in that the clip is on the back of the pad and fits inside the "barrel" of the brake piston - you're not going to see the until you pull the pad off...

just came across this older thread...
And so feel compelled to ask: So in the end were you able to do the entire brake-job yourself?
Or did you need to get some help from a professional?

I can remember at 25 taking some brake pads OFF and sitti9ng there in a dust plié with Absolutely No Clue how to put on the new ones! - thankfully a mechanic-neighbor came home a little later and assisted me.
