I was going down a back road, and 2 cars up the road must of been racing, 1 of them was trying to overtake on the wrong of the road on a blind bend just in front of me.

Trying to avoid hitting thema as I was doing 60mhp myself, ended up in the bush :(

That's horrible Vince!

1. I'm glad that you're OK.

2. [V] to see your car like that.

3. Especially given the time you put into customizing your headlights.

Any chance they at least pulled over to make sure your head was still attached to your shoulders?

Neither of them stopped, about 45-50 cars passed me before someone stopped to see if I was okay.

As with number plates, it happened so fast I only know 1 of the cars was a golf, couldnt make out another :(

And so many people on this forum even are quick to condone street racing and brag about it... this is why I tell people to keep that behavior off the streets and save it for the track. I know you weren't the one racing but you get my point.

Glad to see you're okay and the car is relatively unscathed compared to what could have happened should either party have not reacted quickly enough. The only positive I see to threads like this; it makes me feel that much better about having a Focus now because I know that if something happens to me, I'll probably be just fine.

Hopefully I'm only looking at about 800pounds + spraying worth of damage. It's just a shame I won't have that money for a while =(

I have to stay tho, I climbed out the car fine (From the other side, as the driver door was blocked shut by the bush)

All in all, a safe car.

Worst thing is, chances are you will never find the two responsible for this.
In the end you would almost wish for them to collide into you so they can't escape and pay for their traffic crime.
But that is a risk too big to take.

I was thinking the same thing.

A head on with +100mph between the two.... You made the right choice. Sucks to see that happen. Hopefully some one called them in, I know I would. Police have your best description? They may be able to put them at another scene through cameras.

Sorry about your luck, Vince, but glad everything came out ok given the situation. You seem to have a better attitude than I would about it...[like]

I'll add my condolences to Vince, sorry mate. Hope things get right soon and glad you're OK.

Thanks guys :)

As said, at least it wasn't a head on accident, bumpers can be repaired, repairing of legs takes more time...

Gives me an excuse to get a st bumper. Only thing is they dont do a self-parking St, so custom front bumper will be in the works :)
