I was looking around today for some power for my focus. I went to idaho speed center where they build custom turbos. I told them what kind of car i had and they told me my best bet would be to trade it off. They said if i put a turbo on my car still any honda that has had any work done to it would smoke me. that was dissapointing also they wont 5 grand for a custom turbo. maybe i should trade my car off.

How would they know? How many SPI Foci's have they turbo'd? Less me guess - non.

I would have to say, the SPI might not be the best performer out there, but it has a solid bottom compared to a open deck, floppy rod, weak ringland, block twisting, head lifting, gasket blowing D series. [^]

Don't get sad because some import lovers dogged your car.

Most shops you go to today will bash you the same. Domestics get the shaft....so ignore them and get you some bolt on's and pick your battles carefully on the streets.

yea the subbies are nice cars and do move along pretty well, what year was it, not bashing you or anything cuz i dont know if you go to school or have a job but its gonna cost lots more to run the subbie over the focus, plus insurance is higher, but if you got a job and all id say get it, ill have to wait til im done with school and get a home+job and such first

dude, f*** them, seriously, just prove them wrong, and what about all the thousands of bull shit riced out hondas? there are WAY more of them then actual worked on civics etc. just keep going at it and prove all those import loving f***** wrong. theres nothing wrong with import, but saying that a domestic couldn't beat an import is just f***ing ignorant

^^^DAMN STRAIGHT, anyone watch powerblock where they had the powersliding championship, and for the first time a domestic car beat all the imports, was a new mustang, cant member what it was called but we won [:D]

And I could picture a brand new Lambo in mine! lol, just messin.

Lambos are boring, plus you'd hate yourself for life for wrecking one. a focus or a WRX on the other hand wouldn't seem so bad to wreck

#16 ·
for sure, plus a lambo will never truely be your car, you will just happen to have posseison of one

#18 ·
because they are so unattainable they are more a status symbol than an automobile. Plus theres not much room in the way of improving a car like that. i'm just saying that i'd rather own a car that i can tweak, and change, pour my blood sweat and tears into, then a car that costs a shit load and is probably better than you could possibly make it

I don't know about you, but I couldn't park a Lambo at work, my driveway, or anywhere.
There's too many people with keys & car doors 'round these parts.

#22 ·
sure, but you aren't putting those blood sweat or tears into the actual car, which is what makes a ride truely ones own

Depends on what yer lookin fer. If it's a race car you want, an SPI Focus was the wrong choice. I bought mine to save gas and money on repairs. It happens to be a helluvalotta fun for a non-performance vehicle. I wasn't thinking about upgrading when I bought it. Alot has changed since then.
There are a lot of bolt-ons and other parts & tricks you can do to step up performance. I don't want to be one who says it all the time, but a search will reveal numerous mods. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't. Just go somewhere else & show 'em that they don't know $h!+.

Dude, you should've just told them to quote you on a turbo and not to ask questions. You're a customer and they should treat you like one. What car you decide to put a turbo on is your choice. Their job is just to make it.

i saw that it was freakin awesome

and why a custom turbo get a kit from tom, nobody on here knows more about turbos than him and turbos for the focus none the less
