I bought some mud flaps this week, and I was wondering if anyone had any information on whether or not I had to remove the rear wheels.

You shouldn't. Depends on what kind of flaps you got but ymlst just use the screws that can be removed without taking off the wheel

I didn't have too for my Rallyarmors but it does make the install a bit easier.

Same here, but I've got the 18" wheels. So it really was a must.
