My key remote started not working properly - I had to get closer and closer to the car for the buttons to work. So I took the key to my local Ford for them to fix it and it worked fine until a few months ago. The same distance problem started again so I swapped the battery myself, but the door open/lock etc buttons still do not work. I have to insert the key to open the doors. So its not the battery, what else could it be?
