Intermittent whining from front right side (manual)

Recently there I have experienced brief events of a distinctive whining noise coming from the front right side of my 2007 Focus. There may be a dull whine at most times, but it is so faint I am not sure it is there.

Most recently I was pulling out of a parking lot, up hill, and crossing a major road. While accelerating between 10 and 20mph(max until I stopped the car) the whining became loud enough to be heard over the radio.

The whining noise sounds like two straight gears meshing (like driving backwards at 20mph.) I was in second gear at this point. I imagine second gear would be helical. That is not really the issue, however as this is not the typical operating noise by any means.

After returning to the car I drove for ten minutes without noticing any significant whine.

I am comfortable replacing suspension components and doing top end work.

Does anyone have an idea as what this could be? I would greatly appreciate any insights.

Thank you!

Try checking your wheel bearings. They have a distinctive 'screaming' sound when they are en route out

See? This guy describes it as a 'screaming' sound.
I would describe it as a bag of marbles (and mine were just about to cause a collision when I was driving 90MPH).

A video or simply an audio clip would be much better.
