I have been thinking about buying a new focus st. I was wondering what insurance is like on these cars. What is everyone paying for insurance. Im 32 so im thinking it shouldn't be too bad.

I've been insured with Geico for about 20 years. I did on line quote a couple of months ago, checking the difference between my 2013 focus hatchback and a 2014 focus ST3. Liability premiums remain the same, the collision and comprehensive coverages increased due to the differences in the price of the ST3 compared to my 2013 SE. No penalty was assigned due to the type of car.

To quote you the actual dollar amount is meaningless, because automobile insurance premiums are determined based upon personal factors (including age, sex, marital status, the way the car is to be used and prior driving history of accidents and moving traffic violations) and the garaging location of the car--meaning city, state and neighborhood and the insurance company's experience in that area.

For example, in Georgia I am paying about half of what I paid when I lived in Brooklyn New York. At the same time Metropolitan Atlanta area is one of the most expensive auto insurance premium areas in the southeast due to traffic congestion, the number of accidents, etc.

Some companies today are including your credit score in the rating of your automobile insurance premiums. The theory being the lower your credit score, the higher the risk you pose to the company.

Bottom line, if you have a good driving record, and a satisfactory insurance history, securing insurance coverage on a focus ST should be no more difficult than insuring a Focus Titanium.

I insure the 3 cars below for about $180/month full coverage on all but I'm in my 40s and married and no tickets in over 5 years so that helps a lot. Being in your 30s and if you have a clean record you should only be paying around a hundred a month. if I had only the Focus it would only be costing my around $75 a month.

I have an ST2 '13 and an '12 SE and pay the same for each. In fact, I get a discount on the ST since I added it to my SE policy. Because I live in South Florida (where there is an extremely high level of auto fraud down here), i pay about $170 for both (full coverage). My understanding is that other parts of the state pay less.

Im 30 when I had quoted a ST through progressive they said it would be $121 a month Full Coverage with 5k PIP / 5k mod/accessory coverage and all comp/collision ,liabilty coverages in the mid upper range 75k-100k.

I dont pay tickets I fight them all and win. Ive been with progressive for 6 years

all i can say is you guys have cheap insurance. 23 no tickets/at faults. 04 focus is $2300/yr. hell my 62yr old dad without any tickets/at faults over his driving history pays $1600/yr on a 11 escape.

i know a few people my age with a accident paying 3-4k/yr. and starting out at 16 you pay about 3.5-4k not matter what the car is.

So much of what one pays is due to location. My insurance is high due to the fact I live near/in downtown in a big city.
If I lived out in the country the rate would be a third of what it is here.
It does not matter that I have not had a claim of any kind in 21 years.. All that matters for a good chunk of what i pay is what Zip Code I live in.
Even though I am 65 (rate reduction) no accidents (rate reduction) indoor parking with 24 hr security camera (rate reduction) female (rate reduction) drive less than 5K a year (rate reduction) retired (rate reduction) antilock brakes (rate reduction)
The fact I am in a high risk Zip Code still dominates the rate I pay.

((I like where I live.. So moving just to get cheaper car insurance is not gonna happen))
