im not sure what light you are talking about. can i get a pic? or can you describe what this light looks like?

Its red and looks ike a battery with the + and - on either side.

Sorry i looked in manual and it called it an ignition warning light!

 

The light you are referring to indicates a problem in the charging system. Since the problems intermittent it makes it hard for a mechanic to isolate the problem.

Should you be worried? Something is wrong, but it may not get to the point of total failure for some time. Good luck.

 

your alternator is prolly on its way out. when this light is on constant it is dead.
have your alternator tested to confirm this.

its a 2006, i know. but these things do happen. it is under warranty and they stealership needs to take care of this. dont let them tell you that a flickering battery light is normal.

some local parts stores may be able to do it. i dont know what kind of market there is in your region. i cant tell you what store to go to. if you lived stateside, i could lead you better.

There are numerous components that might be the culprit. If you have a voltage meter, you can check your battery, looking for a reading of app. 12.5 volts when the motors not running, and around 14 volts when it's running. If you have a bad battery, you would get most of the symptoms you describe. The intermittent nature of the problem might be caused by a bad ground...

All of this is moot if you have a new car under warrantee. Take it back to the dealership and tell them that you refuse to sent away with a pat on the head, and will settle for nothing less than them honoring your warrantee and fixing the damn problem.
