Hood spacers aren't even JDM. It's a Vdub thing.

And don't waste your money on that! Go to the hardware store and buy nylon bushings and longer bolts. I think 1/2in nylon bushing is good. Got mine for way less than $5.

I had these before and they really helped with cooling. I could drive my car all night and the hood would be cool to the touch. The moment I took them off the hood was rather warm.

i did this on my 240sx back in the day, and like previously stated, i could drive it hard for a while, open the hood and put my hand on the valve cover, it was still hot but not hot enough to burn like it was before the spacers, my temp needle never went as high as it normally did before the spacers either

LOL, i can agree with you on that. It'll take some time for me to get adjusted to it. But I to have to say it truely works!! While taking the pics above, I was letting the car idle, and once done. I could place my hand at the bottom of the windsheild and feel the heat rasing from the back of the hood.

Attach some short strings along the rear of the hood and drive it at various speeds. See if the strings blow out from under the opening or blow in, under the hood at higher speeds.

Cowl induction hoods get air from the windshield as the wind creates a high pressure pocket at speed, forcing air into the engine compartment. When at slower speeds, it provides for hot air to escape.

You might also have a problem with engine compartment smells coming thru the fresh air venting system to the cars interior.

Make sure you know what you are getting from the mod and that it works.

Personally, I don't care for the look but, I am old too. lol To each his own and I can appreciate the work put into each and every mod.

On one hand, I like it.. but on the other hand it looks like it got in a wreck. I still think it's cool!

definitely not my cupa tea. the only way i would go for this mod would be if hood latches were inverted so the hood hinges on the nose of the car instead of the windshield and then i would have to be able to electronically raise the hood at the windshield incrementally at the push of a button on the fly just to vent hot air out when the car is actually running so the hood could sit FLUSH and follow the BODYLINES of the car when its parked and i have to look at it. but putting spacers on there and leaving it that way makes it look like garbage IMO. cool for a track only car where you are worried about function only and screw whether it looks good or not, but big up-chuck on a daily driver. highly modified street machine...... i think i could forgive a person if i got to drive it [hihi]

i have this on my car.. well just a couple of washers and the same bolt.. on my cf hood.. i have noticed my temp gauge has dropped about 15degrees or so.. it does work.. and if its not put too high it looks good to.. i have bothe vent and raised hood.. and you can barely tell whne standing next to it.. its not crazy high..

you have to get level with it to see it.. its not that noticeable.. i was the same way.. but on my car the gains outweigh the cons..

now as a question what size bolts is everyone going with when they are using the 1/2" nylon spacers?

Jeez, that is sick man...I realllllly dig that. Also, is it just me, or does the silver on your ride look amazing?? It seems darker than other Fofos..

Dont forget that there are like 8 different mixes of liquid gray when you enter the paint code. My car is completely different than my sisters and they are both liquid gray.

I like the look when not too high. Great tip on the nylon spacers for cheap. Thought I saw someone on here from the UK that had a metal block with Ford racing logo on it for his spacer. Had it custom made.
