what's your thoughts about the Ground controls coilover kit & koni adjustables?

It's a very popular combo as it's one of the few shocks that can handle the increased spring rates GC specs. If I recall correctly, GC also sizes their sleeves to specifically fit tighter on the Koni shock bodies. This means no slop and associated rattling found on cheaper coil over sleeve kits.

I've never really seen new GC's price vary too much in price. It's almost best to buy directly from GC as they can set you up with different spring rates (usually at no additional cost) if desired. If you go to one of their dealers this option may add significant time to the order.....if they do it at all.

One advantage to a shortened shock is in the rear the shorter coils you use with the GC set up can actually fully unload and move on the spring perch. I have seen this when jacking the car up not sure it is would do that on a track or an auto-x

if I remember correctly I’m use 6" length on my car, but I have the GC rear perch and KW coilovers on the front. My GC are set almost at the lowest setting.

Are you using these in the rear

How are you putting the 2.5” springs on your car did you find a set of GC coil over’s.
I was looking though some stuff and the GC used a 6” spring in the rear.

I cant find anone that sells the CG set anymore, there discontinued.

I would have some custom made peace's for the front an rear Tom (tb1999) an i have been talking about this, an he told me to pick up some coilover conversion sleeves that will work with the springs.

im more worried about useing a 6" spring in the front, im afraid the strut body might bottom out.

That’s very possible in the front, My Kw’s have a helper spring it probably add an inch, so the 6” springs work.

I have that setup (GC's and yellow koni's) on my Turbo car except I run 500# springs on all 4 corners.... it will beat you to death on the highway sometimes...... but the increase in handleing is well worth it.

I wouldn’t switch the fronts and rears it will upset the balance, our cars like more rear spring then front. I run 450 fronts and 575 rears but it a track car, tb1999 had a nice post about calculating the effective spring rate due to the rear springs being inboard in the rears.
