Hi Everyone,

Among all that's going on in the world, I got news from my local dealer that my car needs a new engine. Vehicle has no oil pressure at all, oil pump is gone & had starved the motor. Oil is also leaking from the engine, so I'm stuck trying to figure out a solution to either get a replacement engine or sell the car as is.

Ford quoted me approx. $6,000 (New Engine) installed and replaced which will be warranted 24month & unlimited mileage.

That being said, does anyone know where I can get a Ford Focus SE Engine.
Must be 1.0L 3 Cylinder Engine that can be mated to a 6 Speed Manual Transmission.

Please help ! Thanks !

I had 150,100kms (approx. 93,200miles) at the time of the engine going. I tried calling them but only offered a 24month unlimited km warranty if did the work through them. Which is great, but that doesn’t really help with the initial $6000 bill

Did you own this car since new?
If you have the service history for the vehicle call ford themselves and press them on it, they may cover some of this.
There are more than a few cases of this happening(belt material clogging up the oil pickup causing oil starvation) that ive read around here and the fiesta boards. This is not a normal expected age or use related failure.
As far as finding a motor thru someone other than ford, unless someone is parting out a wreck its slim pickings right now from what searching ive done.
Have you called around your local salvage yards?
For that kind of money they are asking for that motor you could get a whole wrecked car.

Yeah I bought it brand new in December 2015. I’ve followed all service schedules for my car including sometimes getting oil changes earlier then suggested. Thanks for the advice, I’m going to try pressing them to pay for some of the repair because I’ve honestly not treated the car poor enough for the engine to fail at 150,100kms.
I’ve looked at local wreckers but because I have a Manual 1.0L Ecoboost it’s very hard to find anything.
