My ford focus cruise control and speed limit are not working. They went through months of on and off working but recently both have stopped for good.
Does anyone know of the solution to this?

@FF Site Mods, please relocate this thread.

What does "speed limit" not working mean? Please provide additional description.
AMC's guess (clockspring) is a good guess. However, there are other failure points.
What is your Focus year and model and transmission type? ((some/all have micro-switches at brake pedal and at clutch pedal))
Wiring inside trunk or hatchback "umbilical wiring harness" might be damaged. Third (high-center) brake light bulbs and/or circuit might be f-ed-up = no cruise control.

Sorry I mean the speed limit button on the steering wheel that caps your speed at whatever you set it to. It's the same section of buttons on the steering wheel as the cruise control button.

My model and year is ford focus (2012) 1.6 16v Titanium 125, transmission manual.

Hope that helps, I'll take a closer look the the clockspring, I've read some people have had to replace the physical cruise/limiter switch for it to work again.

This blog also mentions cleaning 2 connectors that come from the power steering and go inside this PCM that is located somewhere down behind the engine:

On my '13 Focus, I can work around this issue by un-clamping the steering wheel adjustment lever (under the steering column) and pulling the steering wheel in and out a few times. Then, re-clamp the lever. I know this is a hokey procedure, but it's worked on my car for the 7 years that I've owned it. Someday I'll look at the clockspring, but I don't use the cruise control often enough to worry about it.
