Engine replacement options?

I'm buying a 2017 focus se with the 1.0 ecoboost with 84k miles. Engine skipped timing and bent the valves. I'm looking at engine replacement options.

Found a used 1.0 hybrid focus engine with 65 k and have seen multiple 2018+ ecosport engine for sale for reasonable prices. All vehicles have the same 8th vin digit of E just like the car I'm purchasing. Will these work?

Lol I was referring to the guy I was in talks with about his 1.0 out of a supposed hybrid car. I can see how you thought I was talking about the other guy on the forum who took an ecosport motor and put it in a focus but that's not what I was referring to.

Please link me the thread about the ecosport swap if you have it. I can't find it.

OK I was under the impression that the 5 speed engines had a different crankshaft for the flywheel to bolt up to. I was going to be able to get the engine for 350 bucks but shipping would have killed the deal. On top of that I can't believe what the guy says because he was adamant that it came out of a hybrid car with a manual transmission and was also saying it was a 2017 and not a 2018.

I'll do my research and just buy an ecosport engine off of ebay and swap it out and call it good. Thanks for the help. I'll look up that profile.

I don't know if the crankshafts are different at the flywheel on the 2.0L NA Focii, but the 2.0L and 1.0L Focii use different auto and manual transmissions. So there's some kind of differences...

Like what Ductape91 said, the NA Focus Hybrid uses a 2.0L NA for the engine. Ford does use the 1.0L EcoBoost in hybrids in Europe...
I read Riceboost's posts. I sure hope he's right because I do not want to spend 1500 on an ecosport engine to find out it doesn't work. It would make sense they're all the same engine though. Keep costs down by having the same production parts across the board.
You'll need to find an EcoSport that uses the BOSCH MEDG17.0 or BOSCH MED17.2 ECUs, and match it to the one you have. That'll ensure the easiest compatibility since the EcoSport and Focus use those ECUs. I don't know how to find out which one is which outside of physically looking at the ECU part numbers.
