does anyone know the real numbers for coefficient of drag for our foci

i've found 0.295 as the stated number but is that for the hatch or the sedan and which tire set up? seems to me the wider 17 and 18 inchers would raise the number somewhat.

any info u guys have will be appreciated.

The published figure is for the sedan. Which generally should have a higher drag coefficient than the hatch due to the shape, although in this case because the hatch does not have the kamm tail like a AMC Gremlin or the Toyota Prius its slightly less slippery on the tail end.

Wider tires give the car more rolling resistance but don't have much affect on the frontal area of the car.

So the overall drag could be more or less, but the drag coefficient only considers the shape and form drag from the air moving across the body of the car.

Be aware oil change places may try to 'forget' to replace your under engine shield.
That shield really increases the slipperyness of the 2012/13. so make certain it gets put back on (if you change oil at a fast lube place)
And wheels makee a huge difference in drag.
A smooth wheel cover is best. large spokes the worst. (they churn the air)
I wish Ford made a special cover to fit over the wheels so they 'could' be super aero (if the owner wanted)
