Wow why didn't I think of that.... Google search shows only a view pages for P286F which all state something different like the clutch, O2 sensor, or catalytic converter.

 

It's a code for clutch A Disengagement time performance ...
Might need to do adaptive learning procedure

Hey one of my friends car is coming up with that code p286f and she has took it to hills ford they said they looked in to it an cleared it but it still not working still doing the same thing anyone point me in the right way?

 

It could be the "A" clutch actuating motor (Top) is weak/slow/bad or the internal actuating mechanism/linkage is dirty, also the clutch position indication transmitter that is built into the motor is bad, or simply a dirty connector, etc. Any avid DIY can easily tackle/try this fix, check/read from post #120 onwards on this thread, All things DCT: what it is, why it's still broken...
