take a 1/8" drill bit to all those black dots (not the gray ones!!), looks like theres 8 of em. be careful and once those are free the green board will come out [thumb]

 

Okay, then after that, how do i reattach the circuit board? Maybe use silicone or something?

I used a very sharp xacto knife to cut the little black tabs off. Then I used a hot glue gun and dabbed a bit of glue on each post.

 

and also, are the leds for the oem buttons 5mm or 3mm? i have both, just wondering!

the leds in here are definitely not 3mm leds...they look like SMD leds...pic:

They're not that hard actually... They're called PCLL-2 leds

-Keep track of which way the angled corner is facing. Use a small set of needle nose pliers and gently twist them off, unless you have a VERY fine tipped soldering iron. Work them back and forth until the 'legs' or contacts of the led break (but will stay soldered to the board).

-Use the soldering iron to push off the broken 'legs' left stuck on the contacts on the board.

-Once the contacts on the board are clean, I had to cut thin strips of tape to keep the leds from moving around. I drink a lot of coffee so I don't have steady hands.

-Then try to carefully solder the leds on. What I did was dab the soldering wire on the iron and then heat up the contacts so the solder could spread and stick. It won't look like a machine did it but it works fine.

No problem, the headlight switch uses regular 3mm leds.

ebay and oznium are the only places I've seen really. I'm about to suck it up and order from OZ and wait for the back order time.

Most of the places on ebay sell packs of 50-100. I actually got mine from ebay but was able to get the seller to send me 5 blue and 5 red and charge me less.

 

Found some! UniqueLeds.com! It was $13.57 with shipping for 20!

 

I saw you put blue leds in the hvac controls too. I'm attempting this myself as I am disabled and its a small project to keep me busy. I was just wondering how you tied all the wiring for them together and what power you tapped into to get them to work. Thanks

The uppers. With the knobs. But I am doing the lower as well

 

I can take some pics for you of how I do it and send you. There are diff ways to do it I guess...I found this is the best for me after making over 30 conversions so far for people!
