hey guys,

i have 16in rota grids and im just wondering if the brembo RS kit will fit behind them or if ill need a 17in wheel?

thanks if anyone has an answer thatd be great.

Nevermind, just re-read your post...thought you were after the Brembo GT kit...

According to the FR catalog, part M-2300-B (RS Brembo caliper kit) reqires minimum 18" wheels, in addition to the RS brake/suspension kit (M-2300-RS) and factory ABS...that all adds up to over $3,400 going by MSRP alone. And don't forget that you'll need 18" wheels and tires to match, plus rolling your fenders or installing the RS fenders, quarter panels and bumpers to fit.

I'd just get the SVT brake kit and leave it at that. The RS Brembo brakes just aren't worth it unless you have a sponsor with deep pockets or are racing semi-professionally and are getting paid when you win.

damn. thats out of the question. 18s will rub after the coilovers.

uh are SVT brakes adequate?

Definitely, the SVT has braking numbers that put it into the same category as cars like the Porsche 911. I have SVT-size front brakes (300mm) with dual-piston PBR calipers (BAT Inc front kit) and SVT rear discs and the car stops in a hurry. I'm sure that my front calipers subtract a bit from my stopping times compared to the SVT with bigger pads and more uniform distribution of the brake force, but the SVT kit is more than adequate for pretty much any Focus.

Aside from the FR SVT kit, there's also the BAT front kit (as I described, 300mm rotors with dual-piston calipers), the Baer SVT kit, the Brembo GT ($2500 with 328mm calipers and quad-piston calipers) and I know of at least one guy on here who fit WilWood quad-piston calipers to his SVT (http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=104703). All of those (other than the BAT kit) require SVT spindles, which the SVT kit comes with.

I have an SVT and let me tell you, the brakes are amazing! and ABS is a must with big brakes; these things haul you down from break neck speeds with whip-lash quickness. the SVT upgrade is they easy, inexpensive way to go, not to mention that they come from an automotive manufacturer and anybody who has ever done anything aftermarket will tell you that factory upgrade parts are definately the most durable, they arent the nest brakes out there, but you can still run 16" wheels with them, anything larger and you require 17" or larger wheels
