All,
I just wanted to put this question out there since there seem to be so many issues with the 2012 Focus. Who is happy with there car[:)] and who is down right piss off with theres[:(!]

I'm really happy with mine but I've only had it for three weeks now. Mostly city driving to and from work but I love the transmission and road handling. There are a few things that don't work like when the rain sensing wipers activate the lights don't come on. I have to manually activate the lights. Of course the USB ports lock up sometimes and I end up pulling fuses to reset it. But overall I still wouldn't want any of the other competing cars in the Focuses class. The Focus rocks and once the bugs are ironed out it will be that much better.[popcorn]

I have had my Focus for a week now and I am more then happy with it. I have a titanium loaded with everything but the handling package and have been scared to post cause i dont want to jinx anything but so far so good. 1st tank of gas I hit 30mpg so I expect that to get better from there. I think the car drives great. MFT froze once and it will not show my album art ever since I played an untagged mp3 but other then that no issues and I really like it. I have a 32 Gig Patriot USB stick with 2500 songs and it indexed and built the voice commands in prob less then 5 minutes. Also worked very good with my old 32 gig zune.

I racked up 600 miles so far and the only thing I am not crazy about is the auto wipers. I was driving with them on headed to work and they were just not working enough. Maybe the sensor is dirty I dunno but I had to keep touching something cause I was unable to see at some points cause they would not wipe.

so far though really love the car and the way it drives and was pleasently suprised how quiet it is on the highway.

maybe this was just a rental car thing, but i rented one a week ago... every time i crossed the 65 mph threshold the thing would beep a little chime and tell me to drive carefully. at 75 mph it would warn me that i was approaching top speed... so when i pinned it it topped out at 80.

i have to say, the chimes at 65 really pissed me off. other than that it was ok... the interior was quite a bit nicer than other cars in the segment for sure. but when i got back to my SVT and hit the first set of corners out of the airport... driving that rental made me love my car all the more.

sorry guys... i like the grill though.

haha the rental company enabled the speed warnings and limiter with the MyKey feature, awesome. Drive safer ;)

Owned mine for.. just over two months now I think. 95% satisfied with the car. Looks good, drives nice, smooth and quiet on the highway. 6 speed auto is satisfactory, though I'd have preferred a 6 sp stick. Fuel economy isn't quite where I want it to be, despite not driving very hard. Not too many issues with MFT but they happen randomly. Starting to learn when it typically messes up - ie, I now know to plug in my iPod -before- turning the car on, or it won't work.

NO, I am not happy at all. From the paint issues, to the never ending MFT nightmare, to the squeaking headliner, sticking outside door handle, Navigation that doesn't work (which I suspect is all tied in with the MFT fiasco) misaligned body panels, rear hatch that let in dust/rain because it was not put on properly, and the list goes on and on. If QUALITY IS JOB 1 at Ford, I'd hate to see what Job 100 is!!!

I've run across a couple loose plastics; the black trim piece under the left side doors and the steering column cover. Nothing that couldn't quickly and easily be remedied by myself. I've had mine since July 1 and 3,100 miles. I am a very satisfied driver.

couldn't be happier, have the 5 spd SE Sport hatch, much like my old 2001 zx3 seems like this car was made for me. Just need the steering issue to get sorted (on order) and the squeaking headliner and I will be a happy camper.

I've had mine for a week now, just under 1,000 miles. I frickin love this car! My iPhone syncs perfectly. The tech features are awesome and I've been lucky enough to not have any issues. No paint issues (tri-coat yellow). No leaking. No missing parts. It rides smooth and shifts smooth (manual).

The only issue is the whistling side mirrors with windows down. That's hardly something I'd consider a deal breaker.

I think the only thing it needs (an I will be buying) is a stainless steel cat-back exhaust system. Just waiting for a good one to come out, I've heard Ford's isn't the greatest.

I've had mine for 4 months/4800 miles (as of 9/7). It's a great car for the money (fantastic mileage, excellent 5-speed, tons of safety features, great styling, engine has loosened up nicely).

I still don't like the electric steering much (especially at high-speed), but I'm hoping that there will be a recall for that.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. Can't wait to check out the ST!

I've had my S sedan 4 months now, and have 4,400 miles on it. So far I really like the car. It's got a sweet shifting 5spd, and even "stripped", it has a/c, am/fm stereo, cd, and front power windows, sorry back seaters. I do miss the grunt of my Mustang GT, but, the 35ish mpg on 87 makes up for it real, real nice. It also shows great promise in the twisties. The only issue I've had, is accidentally turning on the headlights with my knee getting out of the car, hence the "headlights on" warning chimes for us clumsy folks. Overall it's a great blank sheet waiting to be hopped up and ridden hard.

After 3200 miles, very much happy with my choice. I haven't suffered any of the MFT issues, squeaking, squealing, rattling, jerking, stalling, drifting, shifting, not shifting, overheating, underheating, galloping, moaning, groaning, buzzing, leaking, chiming, clanking, grinding, clicking, swishing, swooshing, modulating, pro-creating, or gesticulating that I've heard about on the forum.

I guess I just got one of the "good" ones.[:)]

Ditto that, it was a great way to put it. I am on my second Ford DCT transmission this year with ZERO problems. I put 20K on the Fiesta before this car. I broke 4K miles in 5 weeks with this Focus with ZERO problems, other than the damn retread tire road hazard that took out my lower front right air dam. Ford Collision did the replacement in about 10 minutes and it cost $124. Yes, the MFT has hiccuped, but after I drive a few minutes it has come back. I'm sure the major update this spring will stop even that. October, 2012 build date on mine.[cool]

I love it, but it took me a few months to get to that point. Having said that, it has nothing to do with the car. My experience at my dealership was totally horrific. Not from a cost perspective(although I think they could have moved more on the price). I don't care what something costs, as long as the cost is acceptable for me. I am not a bargain hunter. The customer service at my dealership was a gong show, and it went on and on and on. The only reason I still bought the car through them, is because my options are not common at all, and I would have to order another car and wait.

I have since moved all my servicing to another dealership (Woodridge Ford in Calgary by the way, is super honest and fair, I really like them) and I can now finally enjoy my car since I know I am being taken care of.

Sure, I have had a few small glitches, but overall, things are pretty rad.

No offense, and I am not mentioning any names, but some of you dudes are far too picky. I love Ford, and have owned many of them, but it is still just Ford, with all due respect.

Let the flaming begin :)

+1 on bad customer service. By the end of the first month I had the car, I really wanted to return it because of my clueless dealer. I really regretted buying it in that first month but when I think about what other car I can replace it with, nothing comes close to the fun-factor the Focus can offer. So now I just suck up my dealers stupidity and just remind myself how much I love the car.

Gero

Edit: I'm not completely happy with my purchase though, because: Bad customer service + Good car = Unsatisfied customer

I've had mine since 8-18, 1000 miles and loving it. I enjoy driving it, and have averaged 33 mpg so far. The main reason for getting it was to save money at the pump, and I am, 130.00 per month. I had 1 incident one day when the sync and mft stopped working, but after shutting the car off, it reset and has been fine ever since.

Had my 5-spd SE hatch for 1.5 months now, and all i can say is this car is awesome so far! I have had no issues, and my only gripe is that on the SE models the power cuts to the windows when you turn the car off! (as opposed to when you open the door for the stereo) But that is hardly a deal breaker [:)]

That's about my only gripe too, but I'm sure there's a way to change that. Somebody just has to figure out how.
