I looked through the exhaust vids/clips section and didnt see anything about it. Is anyone out there running a Flowmaster muffler on their Focus? To me it seems like the only one that doesnt sound like a fart can.

Why would you want to put a Flowmaster on a focus? Try Magnaflow, or maybe Borla

I think you might be able to find a sound clip on streetfire.com or youtube if you do a search for: flowmaster, Focus 3" exhaust... In my opinion it sounds very "hollow". I would also suggest Borla or Magnaflow.

i had one on my 2000 zx3.. and i did really like it.. it had a nice deep tone to it... just like flowmaster would. the exhaust was stock size piping. so you felt a diff but not much. i wanted something bigger so thats y i upraded. if i could get that in a already made bigger kit i would have bought it.

why would you want a flowmaster anyway? they dont flow nearly as well as a straight through designed muffler. get a dynomax or magnaflow. those style mufflers will increase the most hp and if you ever get boost those crapmasters will cockblock the hell out of you. they have a bunch of chambers and walls built into them to make a certain sound. but other than that they are a waste of money. i think they are close to 90 bux per muffler now. screw that.

I have flowmaster on my truck, Super44's to be exact and they sound awesome. Now that sound on a foci though, no, don't think you'd get the same reaction. I had Magnaflow on my last foci and have considered it for the SVT as well, but I'm thinking flowmaster would be too much. Better for larger vehicles. If you are hell bent on the name though, the Super44's are very small and have just as much gain and sound as the Super40's.

As for this, I'm hoping you are just talking about for the foci, because flowmaster is a tried and proven system on muscle cars and on trucks! IMO, I see this as the same ole' debate of ferd vs chebby, flowmaster vs magnaflow, etc.

I just want to be able to hear my exhaust because the engine is too quiet. Magnaflow costs way too much even for Foci, its what I put on my vette and it cost $700 for that. It'd be nice if they would have just put a stupid tach in the car to begin with.

yeah... how the hell do you sell a manual shifting car without a tach.. no that it's impossible.. it's just stupid.. like another 3-4" of space plus a needle will set them back millions and millions of dollars. I can't comment on the flowmaster... I've only had one on my old V6...and seen them on bigger engines... I'm not so sure a 4banger would produce the same great sound.. plus aren't most of their piping kits like 3"... that's too much of a n/a engine... bye bye low end..

^^nah, you can get flowmaster's down at 2", mine on the Titan's 2.5. Also, about the 3", it's been discussed on here plenty that this will not kill the low end on the foci, even n/a.

i dont have a muffler..or a resinator. and ill tell you...it makes it really friggin loud....but if u do that go with a 3" pipe...t kinda mellow out the tone....but i am gunna buy a magnaflow and some headers soon...i tooke the cheap way to get some noise when i got the car.

Magnaflow here and it's just the right tone for this car...low,powerful sound with no rice whatsoever.
I'm a big Flowmaster fan (sponsor of my '69 Z/28 project) with them on all my musclecars including the new Super 44's on both Camaro's and they can't be beat in that arena...IMHO.Don't put down Flowmaster for V/8 applications...they make serious HP[headbang] .They are loud though and I didn't want that for my DD so I went with the Magnaflow system and couldn't be happier...plus like was mentioned previously, they don't make a system that fits '05 and up.

i put a 2.5" 40 series flowmaster on my brothers topaz back in the day. it sounded bomb. im wanting to put a super 44 on my svt. there the only mufflers that dont sound completely fast and furious wannabe.

and the guy that said flowmaster "cockblocks" doesnt know what hes talking about. i saw a dyno run where a 350 made more power with a full flowmaster exhaust than with headers only (no exhaust at all). if only i could remember where it was.

i had the american thunder exhaust on my car a while back. its stock size tubing so you really don't feel much of a diff. but the sound was good actually. it's not ricey at all. its pretty deep. typical of flowmaster. if they made a kit that was like 2.5 i'd get it.

I am running a Flowmaster 60 series on my '05 ZX4. The 60 series is the only one that would fit, on the sedan anyway. I like the sound of it. Sounds more aggressive than stock, but it's not real loud. The audio clips on www.flowmastermufflers.com are pretty accurate.

I am running a Flowmaster 60 series in my '05 ZX4. I had to remove the center resonator when I had it installed, though. It sounds more aggressive than stock, but not loud like a Silverline muffler. The sound clips posted on http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/60_series.html are pretty accurate for the sound quality of this muffler. I like it. I had it done at a local muffler shop and spent a total of $260.00 on it.
