Accelerator pedal sticking

On my 2007 sedan my accelerator pedal has been sticking, just when I first push on it. It does not stick during normal driving and works smoothly. I have heard that carbon builds up in the throttle body causing this. Is there a way to clean the throttle body without removing it?

Yes, I'm assuming the intake is similar to my 2.3 duratec. If so you can loosen the hose clamp that holds the intake to the throttle body, move the intake out of the way and clean the throttle body. Make sure you use a soft brush like nylon or a toothbrush on the throttle body so you don't scratch it, and use throttle body cleaner to clean it. It helps to stick something in to hold the throttle plate open like a piece of pvc pipe or a screwdriver handle.

Edit: you might also need to remove the cover, I forgot about that because mine isn't on there right now.
