A build thread, all my own*update* now with full stereo system

I'll just start off with the run down of whats going to be going on, this will go pretty slow until things actually start to happen.

so as far as the break down of my car goes.

2003 SVT EAP in screaming yellow that was purchased a little over 2 years ago.
When I got it, It came equipped

ebiach sportline pluss kit
VF mounts
CFM 67MM TB
redline hood struts
borla exhaust
STS
torrsen T2
euro grill
invader CF hood
and windows where tinted

so over the past 2 years I've added some small things here and there, the major thing I wanted to do was install a turbo kit of which I have acquired last year and I have been saving up for some extra odds and ends and now that my tax money has come in It's time to move forward with those plans

so far what I have done to the car since I first came into possession of the car

double DIN pioneer HU
Infinity door speakers
custom sub enclosure with a kicker comp C10 sub
cut the STS even shorter
MOMO shift knob
Euro HVAC gauges
Kona roof rack
plasti dipped the stock rims
TFB ford emblem overlays black over yellow
MSD coil pack
Massive speed systems wires
Optima yellow top battery
"blown out" KYB AGX struts
and some stickers :p

whats still to come:

XIOS turbo kit
euro tail lights
custom kicker L7 sub enclosure and subs ( I have 2 12''s )
adjustable front endlinks
SS brake lines
some kind of new suspension I'm thinking coilovers
tune for my xcal 2 and car

how the car sits now in no random order

as the car sits today

little bit of an update, I've got a new coolant tank reservoir ordered, and I should have my hands on a J&S safe guard by the end of the week along with an AEM wideband(hopefully)

all that I will need after that is a new 180 deg Tstat and housing since mine is leaking, and then my tune and things should be underway from there

Wow, amazing to see this thing after so many years removed...Had to laugh when I seen the ST in the one picture...thats what I DD now! Its awesome!

I hope you have better luck with the turbo then I did. Im a little curious why you went with the Xios, vs any of the others...I know everyone has their preference...I liked the SPA manifold just bc it was cast and would not crap like the welded ones do over time. But anyway, looks like you are coming along. I have been down that same road collecting parts for that same car. I have a picture of my living room floor with everything on it. I have to note the hooters girls was a nice touch and made me proud! Good to see someone still taking care of the car. I know I tried to take care of it, aside from blowing a few engines.

This is the oldest picture I think I have of the car. Probably had right around 20k miles on it which is right about the time I bought it. Before I did much to it, if anything it may of had an intake on it at this point.

Then I went to this...

And then this is what happens...

I still have this..will sell to the highest bidder...the original #2 piston for this car.

And what is sad is I dont have any pictures from the last 6 months I owned it, when I had Tom put the SPA manifold and the 3" downpipe with V-band flange on it....I thought I had pictures.
wait here is one!

Well Good luck and I will be watching this thread as you progress.!!!

BTW sorry to thread jack with all my pictures, but you needed more history, lol...anyway if you have any questions you know how to get a hold of me. What goals do you have in mind for your turbo build...beside not having a smoky picture like mine.

#12 ·
no worries on thread jacking lol makes the story of the car even better.

the kit was the right price at the right time and I heard good things about the garret turbo that it came with.

what i'm hoping for is a 300whp DD when I'm all said in done and IIRC should be around 12 PSI of boost other than that I dont want to get too crazy with it

#13 ·
For reference, I was on 20psi to make my 326whp when I had it.

#16 ·
well damn, guess there is a diff in there.

Why in gods name would you want that giant ass box back there...if you are going to go the speaker route at least get something that fits. That box is huge.

lol it serves a purpose, and that reason is the stereo comp a FF this year [grinking]

Good lord...you better go with a bigger turbo if you are going to be hauling that around in the back! lol

#24 ·
put in a little work today, still needs one more coat before the header wrap goes on

and here's what I'm using for a turbo

#27 ·
So whose blue ST is that up above???

#29 ·
Nice...I love mine, so much faster then my SVT was ever...even when it was turboed. Handles amazing too.

#30 ·
hopefully I can get it faster then my old mans ST, then hopefully that will make him want to mod his [hihi]

this shiz is a pain in the ass to get on i lost about 5 feet due to the weave coming undone on it

Something I have learned from this stuff is a good old worm gear clamp will often hold longer then those stainless steel zip ties. Did you soak that wrap in water first? Not sure if you are supposed to do that to all bramds bit I have always used water as it should shrink up after and fit nice and tight.

the stuff on the box said I didnt need water for this version of the wrap.

i did have one hell of a time tho wrapping I ended up loosing about 5 feet due to the weave coming undone [:(!] so now I need to buy one more 25 foot roll and then when thats done I'm thinking of hitting it with the black high temp spray can that I have. not sure If i wanna do that yet or not tho

time for a new update
today I went and ordered some more parts from summit
so I'll have some more DEI wrap to finish up the header and DP
along with some new copper plugs and a new valve cover gasket
I also went a dropped of my DP at a welding shop due to there being a hair line crack in it

so as of right now all I need to do is order a new Tstat housing then my tune and the turbo build will commence so hopefully I'll have everything needed by the end of the week
