I'M LOOKING INTO PURCHASING A 65MM THROTTLE BODY OR A PERFORMANCE HEADER WITHIN THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS. I HAVE A AEM CAI, AND I HEARD THAT IF YOU HAVE THE CAI IT GIVES YOU MORE PERFORMANCE FROM THE THROTTLE BODY. I'M LOOKING FOR FEEDBACK ON WHICH OF THE TWO WOULD GIVE ME MORE FOR MY MONEY. I'M LOOKING FOR EQUAL GAINS IN HORSEPOWER AND TORQUE. [???:)] [?|] [8]

I would say stay away from a shorty header if that is what you are talking about. If you want to stay legal go the svt header route. TB gives mild performance, but is cheaper. The TB really gives noticeable throttle response, but not that much hp/tq. Do you have a catback already??

i concur with brad.. the throttle body adds nice response.. but u can port ur own stocker to do that.. and get just about the same...

the race header adds a 'holy shit' amount of kick in the pants.. the mid, and espically top end of your powerband comes to life!!!!

i've seen a few pplz with headers for sale here on the board.. if a used part is in good condition, try to get the used one... it'll save u some dough.. without having to skimp on quality..

Yeah I agree, if you don't have any other exhaust mods, don't bother, get the TB. If you have other exhaust mods, you will want to complete the WHOLE setup engine to your catback all at once. Either get a catback and then do the engine to cat in the second stage or do it ALL at once.

What do you all have for mods already?

Like Mighty said, just port your stock exhaust .

thinkin you meant throttle body. [:)~]

65mm and even a ported stocker are still night and day. there is nothing really to compare, porting the stocker does help though.

i agree with the rest, go with a race header if u have catback. how much do u have to spend?

I have about 5 and some change to spend. As for my exhaust, Im driving with a carbon fiber muffler. The muffler sounds clean. Im thinking of a MagnaFlow Cat later. If the header is better which would you guys recommend. I heard the Edelbrock is nice.Thanx for all your help everybody!!! [wiggle] Buy the way does anyone know how to get sponsored???[scratch]

I'd say get the TB to start; you will notice it more. The exhaust would be next, but I'd say to finish off the induction side before moving to exhuast. Get that all done at once.

Since you don't have any 'real' exhaust mods, don't go with the race header (plus you become emmisions illegal with one). Go with the TB, you will definitely feel big increases of throttle response, not much actual 'speed' increases but your gas pedal will feel very nice to you.

As for being sponsored, spend about $6000 to $8000 on your car, which would include every single available product that a company currently sells and you might get a chance to get sponsored.

No, I know my VOLANT didn't at all when I put on my FC 65mm TB. The gas pedal will be very 'touchy' and very responsive. I guess the car does go a bit faster, more pull in the lower RPM range but most of it is the responsiveness. Step on the gas and the RPMs go up alot faster, etc.

Im looking to buy both TB and Headers. All my friends at our Focus Club say that I should buy the Focus Central 65mm TB and the Focus Central 4-2-1 header but other people tell me that the focussport header is better because it's a racing application part. I made up my mind and went for the Focus Central TB but im not so sure about which of both headers would be the best buy. Please tell me what you think. Which header would you buy?????
1) Focus Central
2) FocusSport
I wanna know and I need to know so please tell me>

You didn't mention if you are trying to saty emissions legal or not . . . if you are, then the SVT route is worth checking into
