Seems Ford will continue to treat the 1.0 EcoBoost in the 2015 Focus much the same way the Fiesta was introduce and marketed.....very very very very quietly.

Keep this very quiet please, there is a 2015 Focus 1.0 EcoBoost SFE in plain site at the New York Auto show, but pleazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzze don't tell
anybody

Now thats the grill that I would want in the trapezoid.

I may be wrong, but it looks like it doesn't actually allow any airflow through it. Given the size of the 1.0, it would make sense to limit airflow and keep the SFE as "FE" as possible.

The downside is that if it is in fact a solid piece of plastic, it wouldn't be able to be switched out with the standard 2015 grille unless some creative holes were put into it.

BTW, From the 2015 sedan discussion thread:

I finally received one image form Ford's social media Twitter person whom is on the floor at
the NY Auto Show

The motor in the foreground is the 1.0L EcoBoost.

I have asked for some interior pictures as well, but will have to wait and see if this person is capable of such a task.

The person that took the other images I posted earlier, said he sat in the car but did not take any pictures.
This person also thinks that it was the base IP audio that was in this Focus.

This grill is much more to my liking then the horizontal slats or bars, be them chrome or painted black.
I would like to see the lower air dam with the honeycombe mesh as well, which I think would make for a very nice sport trim level.
It would seem that Ford is for real about the 1.0L

The 2.0L is still the standard engine in the North American 2015 Focus.

Here is another image

Not sure why you would think the front grille would be closed off, this is not a Hybrid
or BEV (electric).

We have had the 1.0L Focus for some time in Europe and the front grille is the same as on the other gas engine Foci.

Things change.

The 2.0L is still the standard engine in the North American 2015 Focus. ...
Yeah, but for how much longer? Remember when you rarely saw an American car that did not have a V-8 engine? Only wierdos like me had any interest in strange little cars with anything less than around 4.7 liters (289 c.i.). I'm glad I got a 2.0L before they end up as rare (or expensive) as 5L V-8s have.

Personally I find the 1.0 has much better torque output off the line than the 1.6 that is usually equipped in the Fiesta. I'll agree that it isn't a lot of motor to haul around a Focus chassis, but I'll reserve judgement until I try one for myself.

The 1.0L Ecoboost will be optional and only available with the 5 speed. In Canada, the "SE Manual Ecoboost" package on the fiesta is a $995 upcharge and isn't avaiable on any trim other than SE and then only in a 200A (base) package. In the Fiesta it is a power upgrade. In the Focus it will be a downgrade power wise, but a bump in F/E.

Incorrect.
The 2015 Focus 1.0 EcoBoost will be optional and only available with the 6 speed manual.

In addition to a host of styling and technology advances, the new Focus will offer the efficient, fun-to-drive 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine with a six-speed manual transmission

Lots of strong opinions on a car that I do not think ones making these comments have driven the car yet.

The 1.0L has the same amount of torque (during overboost) as your 2.0L.
I have found the engine quite fun and punchy in the Focus, and with the 6th gear an all around pleasure on the highway cruising.

Finally received a pic (albeit a bad image) of the 2015 Focus without the MyFord Touch option

Notice the 6 speed manual [headbang] confirming this is the 1.0L EcoBoost Focus

This image is the interior of the silver Focus that I posted previously.
Apparently the car is now locked during the public access of the show.

1.0 is not so good as it's marketed in the EU. Couple of guyz I know have it and it's nothing extra. Can be fuel saver if driven real easy (but every car can)...
New car consumes 9liter/100km ~ 25 mpg... driven normally.
It would be good motor for lighter car - sub tonn car! This way, no.
Expensive maintainance, parts expensive, oil 5w20, spark plugs, everything expensive.
Even maintainance regarding parts of engine replacement, like turbo or other parts - no rebuild, only replace whole engine.

Yes, I believe it will be expensive in the US also.
Spark plugs for my focus are 20$ for 4 pcs. For 1.0 it is 20$ for only one Spark plug.
I can get oil 5L for about 40$, and for 1.0 it is 30$ for 1 liter. And you can not use different oil beacuse of the motor construction (even timing belt is in oil). If anything, than I see it maybe as eco friendly (less co2 emmision, etc...).

Hey guys!
I own the 1.0 EcoBoost and if you haven't drove it, you can't talk about it. I got it with the 6th gear manual, cause the automatic transmission isn't available till the facelift. It's a really strong powerfull engine that's really efficent. It's fun to drive and makes me happy, because it obly needs 5,8 l/100km. My old Focus with 2.0 Duratec engine has need 8,5l/100km. So I only had positive opinions for this engine in the Focus ;)
