Absolutely nothing in the owner's manual that I can find.

 

I know the Mk1 had a clip to attach the owner's manual to...

 

Me and my wife are trying to figure it out also. A pen doesn't fit because I tried with a few different ones. I thought maybe insurance info would fit nicely, but it just slid to the back of the glovebox.

Yeah, the hidden shelf way in the back of the glovebox is incredible!

 

I'm not a fan of the glovebox. Yes, it's huge but how would you ever reach anything in there from the driver's seat? I doubt I'll even use mine.

 

Anything you need quick access too should be sitting in your center console.

Not the James Bond gadget holder answer I was hoping for, but interesting.

First thought to me is that business cards in that slot would get crushed, but not sure how deep it is... I'll try it later.

 

I put a tire pressure gauge in the clip. Also happened to find the 'aux line in jack' located in the glove box. The owners manual said it was in the console. Anyone else have the 'line in jack' in the glove box?

 

Yup. I have a 2012 'S', which has no center console (just an open top box aft of the cup holders). I assume the higher trim levels with the openable center armrest have the input inside.

 

I remember reading in the brochure I have that it is for a pen and business card, or credit card I forget which.

 

I'm surprised nobody mentionned that big slot on the top of the glovebox that seems to be made for the owner manual,but at the same time feels a little large for it.

I keep a tire pressure gauge in the clip and my AAA card in the slot. The owner's manual slot is slightly big. Sometimes when I open the glove box my owner's manual isn't in the slot anymore. Time to slow down around the turns? [driving]

 

Got the same problem with the top slot and was wondering if there was not another function.

 

I use it for napkins. never used to carry them in my car but they come in handy with the Focus. I love the fact that the front cupholders in my SEL have a rubber pad on the bottom, it's easy to pull out and wipe down with a napkin.

Also, the glovebox isn't as large or accessible as the Mazdaspeed 3 I had previously but I'm still glad to have the whole back section as most cars do not.

 

I bought myself a zippered bank bag (at Wal Mart, school supply section) to put the owners manual, and other papers in. It fits snug. [wiggle]

 

The slot is for the power tuner card. This card is inserted into the slot and increases horsepower and remaps the pc to run on the track. It's for use on racetracks only. The "pen holder" is for a tungsten rod, when inserted adds 150% better fuel economy. It remaps the pc and retunes the tranny for better fuel economy. Highest fuel economy recorded was around 58MPG!!!!!
Too bad these are European only options.

The slot works perfectly for holding your registration and insurance cards.

The glove box NEEDS a light and for the kind of money people are paying for these cars it should have a light.

 

A small flash light is the best kind of light you can have in any car because you can direct it wherever you want. I usually carry one around all the time anyway.

I would like to see some pictures of what everyone is putting in those slots in the back. I can't seem to find anything that actually fits in there. The pen holder works which is nice.

Its not hidden, just a shelf/slot on the roof designed for the owner's manual.

 

I appreciate the thought they put into this, but for once they've don'e something that doesen't seem practical. Just too far to reach for a pen.

 

I put all my junk in the glove box in a travel organizer bag. Then when I need to get something out, I grab the bag, unzip and get it. No more leaning over looking for things while the rest of the stuff falls out.

You'll be surprised how nice it works the first time you use it sitting in the drivers seat.

 

Wait! My glovebox doesn't look like that. I guess I'll chalk this up to another difference between the trims.

my glove box has the slot and pen clip too like this:

seeing as you have a titanium too, it should be the same.

 

I use that slot for my Timmy's card!
