Nice! Better launches are achieved by getting into the meat of the torque curve earlier [/Capt. Obvious], but that is necessary with these motors needing to rev to make power.

FYI - you can scroll through your settings on the screen above your steering wheel to turn off the traction control...

O and Rob it had 10 miles when we bought it last night. Now it has 140miles haha

My SE has the regular automatic, and I can launch it the same way as the OP.

 

it does sound pretty good too... hopefully trying it out on my own in about a week!!

 

This is not a 2-step even though it looks like one.

It is a safety feature built into the car to keep people from over revving... most modern cars do the same thing.

 

On my 2009 Focus, if I hold the brake down and go WOT, it will revv to about 2,700-3000k RPM's.

I like acceleration as much as the next guy but won't be launching my new Focus. I doubt that the drivetrain was built to take it, and replacing those clutches would be very expensive.

 

Lol it's got a 5 year drivetrain warranty what's there to worry about.

 

Vids too short lol, I wanna see it run through the gears.

 

anyone try it on a MT yet? I couldent even get the tires to break free with TC off when I tried it in my buddies car

An Edmunds Inside Line Road Test (vs the Cruze) has verified this (if you don't want to risk it with your own transmission haha)

Works in Normal *AND* Sport mode.

Only problem is there's too much of a delay between letting off the brake and the car actually engaging the clutch. Tried it at a light and got blown away by my friend because I let off the brake when the light turned green and the car didn't move for another second or so.

 

Haha... That's just like at the track. You don't go when the tree goes green. You go when the yellow is about to go out.
