I recently purchased a low mileage SVT from the original owner. It has a bad surge, slow return to idle, lacks power on intial pull away. I found a Ford
TSB 03-19-11 that gives a revised PCM calibration. The trouble is when I go to the local Ford dealer they say that when they pull in to the Ford system it shows no updates available. The TSB gives the new part# 2U7Z-12A650-FYA
but the driveability tech says that there is no option to manually put in the part#. Is anyone out there a Ford drivability tech or knows how to overide the ford updates? Thanks

Read through some of the forums a bit... A custom tune changes some perameters in your cars computer, and will make it run much smoother. Cost is roughly $400 unless you have a programmer already.

Well Kind of , The SVT is not chipable it takes a flasher like a Diablo Predator or the SCT xcal3
I sell the Diablo Predator for 395.00 shipped and that comes with the Flasher , Custom tune , free updates as you add more mods

Most with my tune will tell you its much better then any of Fords updates for the SVT

Yes he means and aftermarket computer programmer ( performance chip ). And yes it will cure your problems. It costs a bit of money but 1turbofocus is the man to get it from. It will change the way the engine runs and how the car performs.

PM him and you will not regret it.

The updated tune really doesn't do much to help you. You need an aftermarket tune. I have Tom's (1turbofocus) and it makes a world of difference in performance and daily driving.

Thanks everyone for the information. My car was a very late production '03 and discovered it already had the update PCM. I am looking to correct the surge and inprove throttle response at low rpms. I will contact Tom.
Thanks again

Just don't expect a world of difference in your bottom-end performance with a revised tune. It's still a modest 4-banger designed to thrill more above 4K than below.
