DTC P2004 - DTC Control Stuck Open (Bank 1)

I just installed an iPhone app called Hum that diagnoses car problems using the DTC codes (check engine light). Hum immediately came up with the P2004 (Powertrain) error, titled "Alert Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Open (Bank 1)".

AutoZone also ran a check and recommended "Replace intake manifold control (IRMC) actuator." Error code read: P2004 Intake Air System Malfunction.

A YouTube video suggests first checking for a cracked vacuum hose, located in front of the intake that wraps around to the manifold intake runner control solenoid.

That vacuum hose did not appear to be cracked.

Any suggestions on what to check next?

Can't assume OK from visual inspection, you need to remove the hose from solenoid valve to actuator and apply vacuum to see if the IMRC operates and holds position without leaking down.

(only need a hose attached to that one so you can suck on it to move it, then tongue over end to hold vacuum - should stay in position)

I had this problem 2 months ago!
1 - Check cracked hoses
2 - Check solenoid - ask for someone to rev the car and see if the actuator works.
3 - Check actuator

My case was a bad camshaft cover gasket - it made oil drip inside the actuator.
It was working but because it was filled with oil the electric signal was not being read.
