Yes. The tubes came with three wires red, yellow, black. I have the red going to the fuse, yellow spliced into the positive for turn signals, and the black is grounded on each side. I believe everything is wired just fine since it all works, the white just doesn't cut off when the car is started. I will definitely try and get a video of that today or tonight. Could the fuse I'm tapping into be putting out more power than the turn signal wires I spliced into?

Seems like it's wired okay. I don't think it'd make a difference if you were plugged into the fuse or parking light. To me it sounds like that's just how they are.

When your engine is off, key turned only for power, does the white led turn off when you do the blinkers?

Exactly just that. When the car is off, but the key is turned all the way before starting, the white comes on instantly as it should. I hit the blinker the white cuts out and just the amber flashes. That's why I'm confused as to why it doesn't do that when the car is actually started. Haha it could just be a weird thing. The Amber does flash too when I lock/unlock the car

I'm not really sure why it would do that. It has to deal with the type of voltage going through. I had a switchback bar on my 2013 that did something similar. It flashed amber but every 3 blinks it would flash white once. I'm going to say it's the driver for the leds.

Someone here might know the science part of it but I don't have an answer!

Well I do appreciate all the help and information you've given me. I'll have to surf around and do some more reading.

Ok so Mk1 here, lotsa questions. For headlights I'm guessing HID? What are projectors and do I need them? Are there any good kits for under 100? Also my sidemarkers were out so I replaced them with LEDs and discovered they blink with the turn signal, yet they don't hyper flash. So do I still need a load resistor kit? Or can I use an LED flasher module? Where can I buy LEDs and know I'm getting a really bright set? Apologies for the mass questioning, but thank you.

Projectors keep HID beam patterns from spraying out and blinding other drivers. Additionally, they maximize visibility for you.

You absolutely need projectors.

Are there kits for less than $100? No, because you need to retrofit projectors or purchase headlights that already have them pre-built (those are usually lower quality).

Generally, you do need a load resistor kit for LEDs, but if you're not getting hyperflashing, maybe you could let it run. Most of the reputable LED sellers will advise that you do have them. You can check vleds for LED stuff.

You should check out hidplanet.com for HID related questions (it's a big forums site) and where I met someone to retrofit HID projectors for me.

You should check out theretrofitsource.com for actual purchasing of HID (and some LED) equipment.

Cresch07, I have ebay projectors very similar to those you posted. I have them on my 2002 Focus. I think I bought them for like $150 or so, and have had them on my car since 2012, so about 4 years. You get what you pay for with these. They had a film that has peeled off, and already have started to look cloudy, but that may be since they were at a mechanics house for 4 months. I think some rubbing compound can help clear them up. I will take pics and upload them for you to see.

The LEDs on them are very dim, not visible at all during the day and somewhat visible at night. I did put HIDs on them, and the cutoff is not that great at all, but Ive never had anyone flash me in 4 years, so I dont think Im blinding any oncoming drivers. I get flashed more with my ST3 lights to be honest.

If you can find a pair of SVT headlights with built in HIDs, that would be your best bet, since they will be legit factory HIDs with awesome cutoff.

Here are pics of the lights, they may look blurry, thats the best shot I can get at the moment, If you PM me, later on this week I can get some cutoff shots for ya

As far as these lights, I think the bulb is H11 or H7, I have to recheck but the low beam projector has a 35w 4300k HID kit and the High Beam has a 55w 8000k HID kit and damn these really light up the road pretty freaking good.

Oh damn alright. I will definitely look at that some more then. I'll have to search out svt hid kits as well. I just don't want to be one of those ricers with an hid setup that's more expensive than the car. Sailor, how can you tell they are hal setup and not HID? Is there something to watch for? Spyder you say?

cresch07 - I just read further down in your link to where it listed specs., halogen bulbs listed.

Wanted to see what they really claimed to be, or IF they actually said anything.

Nope, std. SVT's had lights that were only slightly different in appearance from other versions.

IIRC the Mach projector type was only on the EAP (European Appearance Package) versions and the Mach edition std. cars.

guy556 is mentioning the optional ones that look somewhat similar to the aftermarket ones you guys were talking about, not base model SVT.
