ok ive searched and searched and cant find anything about how to install the quaife diff does anybody know where i can get pics and instructions on how to do it with the mtx??

Wow, I haven't seen anything on this either. It is a VERY involved process and I surely wouldn't trust this to anyone but a qualified transmission tech.

If you can get the tranny dropped I believe 1turbofocus could possibly do it for you if you ship it to him.

There is a article in sport compact rag about this for the focus. It is pretty straight forward. If you can pull your tranny you CAN put in the quaife. Just take your time and move slow to re-assemble. Also get both bearings for the diff. You will distroy at least one to get off the speed senser on the stock diff.

still need help on install if anybody i have pm the people that have asked me too but none of them do it on the mtx. please help me. thanks

OK Dude chill out...... If you know how to take out the tranny then your half way home on this one ok! It`s easy... remove the tranny- set it down on the floor on the housing and remove the bolts around the case-make sure it is in neutral- slide off the gear case and set it on the floor- take out the diff.-remove the large gear(6-8 bolts I don`t remember) and pop off the carrier bearing case- use a dremmel grinder to remove the bearing race and slide off the speed senser-place the senser on the quaife place new bearing race on the quaife and use the old race to set it down tight. replace other side carrier bearing the same way- use a little gasket material to seal around the case and slide them back toghter-tighten thebolts and replace the tranny in the car------it`s easy.

hey liquid i read that article online at the magazine and they dont really go into detail much either that or i am really dense which is possible i guess i just want to make sure i have everything i need before i start and know exactly what i am doing sorry to seem so crazy i just have been looking for about a week now and cant find anything.

OK.....Here is the deal...Not a single shim is required. When you remove the diff. from the case the bearings will be attached. with a screw driver pop off the bearing (needle) cover they roll on a RACE it is angled. You can eiter take it to a shop and have it presed off or dremmel it off. It realy is very easy if you look at what you are doing and IF your not tool challenged. NOW if you can remove the tranny a your shop or home call me....I will walk you over it. If not send it out to someone or shop that will. It is not that hard of a mod. BUT buy both bearings because you will need to replace them. And you need to drop the entire front suspension cradle and not beat up the motor mount at the same time. If you cannot face that challenge then send it out.
