Just wondering how you would bleed the power steering pump to make sure there is no air in it.

you can help it out by turning the wheel to just before the stop in one direction while running, allow it to cycle there for a while, then turn it back to center.
shut it down, allow the bubbles to settle in the resevoir, top off the fluid, then repeat the procedure going the other direction.
this will guarantee to clear the air... just make sure you don't hold it against the stop, since that can overpressurize the system.
