So I've been in and out of the shop trying different set-ups and wasting a lot of money and I came out with a really simple and cheap way to get decent sounds out of my 14 Focus SE
1) I tried switching a flowmaster in and the lunch box out
it sounds nice and not loud. It is tamed. You can hear something now. It rumbles a little on deceleration. You can hear it on the street. Can't hear it on the freeway. You need to have your windows down to hear it and it won't disturb anyone. No drone or nothing. It's a very pleasant step above stock.

2) I also tried putting just a flowmaster and deleting the resonator to get some more sound. It was a big mistake! If you like ricer exhaust sounding systems go ahead. Metal rattling buzzing sounds out of my tail pipe is not for me. Under normal driving conditions it sounds nice deep and rumbles. It is a very pleasurable sound but once you put any load on the engine and you get some fart can sounds. If you like the ricer sounds then this is for you

3) This is the cheapest easiest way to get a decent sounding tone out of the ti-vct engine. Simply remove the lunch box or muffler under the bumper and you get a decent sounding exhaust tone. At idle, you can barely hear it. In normal driving conditions you can hear it well. You can barely hear it in the highway. You can get some drone in the highway under load. It only cost me $20. I bought a 90 degree bent elbow pipe, a down pointing tail pipe and two exhaust clamps. I cut the lunch box put the elbow and tip, fastened them both with the clamps and this is what I got.

It could use a small glass pack or some thing to smooth out the tone but for now I am happy
4) I found an old fart can in my back yard so here you go

I can't replicate exactly what I did because, I already did it (pipe cutting) but it's straight forward and self explanatory
