But it does.

Which should look familiar to any Mk3 owner:

I see your attempt but failed since MK3 muffler design is no longer unique (can't be called a lunch box)... many cars have this configuration now...

Try again later ... your argument is invalid! [grinking]

Yes it can. Lunch box. Lunch box. Lunch box. See? [hah]

Whether other cars have it or not is irrelevant. I know what it looks like under there on my car. (Still haven't gotten ambitous enough to paint it black.)

Ditto. [poke]

As long as it doesn't violate noise ordinances in places that are strict about that sort of thing (we're looking at you California) I don't think people have too much trouble removing the muffler.
I think most drivers kinda know if your locale would have an issue without one. In Colorado you can get away with it and I've thought about doing it but I'm concerned about it sounding too ricey and buzzy doing 12mph in a parking lot.

I had to put the stocker back on. My wife complained that it sounded like my car was going to blow. Not that it was loud....it just made noise. Not the silence like I hear now........ off to the exhaust shop for some flanges so I can bolt on what I want.

It doesn't sound ricey, it actually sounds rumbly like lub lub lub lub . you get a ricey buzzzzz from removing the resonator right after the catalytic converter

Should.install an exhaust cutout....hit the switch to divert to side exit exhaust.
...then back for stock.... :)

I was looking hard at this after I did my original muffler delete.
But after a lot of research on electric cutouts, I changed my mind.
The price(for good ones) and the dependability of them talked me out of it.

Anyway.... good job :) (Sounds much better than my Magnaflow... but then i need to delete the 2nd PZEV cat).
I was pretty dead set on the magnaflow exhaust until I read this...

What don't you like about the magnaflow exhaust on your car??? Does it drone? Does it sound too ricey or what??? I'm almost 30 years old and this is my DD. I'm not trying to make my focus obnoxious.

Lunchbox delete is a lot cheaper than the MF exhaust. I'm just trying to figure out which is the better mod. I'm aware the MF exhaust makes horsepower and the lunchbox delete doesn't.

Shoot, I actually must have skipped a vid, the one I meant to link showed him driving a suped up car and making just those noises, no music. [giddy]
