There is a very good shop by me that quoted me 2500 including inside the doors. That was way too much for me to pay to wrap this car. I bought 35ft of vinyl for $360. That's going to do the whole car besides the roof and ground skirts.

I was debating doing a matte. My only concern was that i read that if you have something on the vinyl and you rub too hard, you'll make a shiny spot. Something like that would drive me nuts. The 3M gloss had tons of swirl marks even after using the wrap wax. The avery is much better.

Made a little more progress. Got the bumper done. It was much harder than I anticipated.

Now the whole bottom of the car is done besides the side skirts. I'm probably going to do the roof black. I just have to find the time to drive out to get it.

Thanks. There are a few small issues with it but I'm slowly fixing them all. Nothing major though. For the price I paid, it was definately worth it. Just curious, why did you pass? The flames?

The flames and the silly rear spoiler thing. Just threw up red flags for me and I didn't want to bother to actually go look at it and find some kid had thrashed it. Long drive for me. I snagged mine in 2013 with 39k on it, so i have no regrets, haha.

Ya. I hated that spoiler. It came off immediately! Lol. I figured the flames were why it didn't sell. I found out it had that paint job and wing because it was a demo car for kenwood.

Yes. First entire car wrap. I did the hood on my speed3 and wrapped small parts before. Overall it's not that hard. The hard part is the details. Like corners and going around the doors.

That looks amazing.
I have to do my bonnet (long story) and will probably just use a carbon fiber wrap as it's the easiest for me to get.
Any tips you could give me ?
Do you use soapy water as I have heard both to use and not to use ?
Any advice would be much appreciated

Cheers Scott

Aussie-focus, I used the carbon fiber on the hood of my speed3. The only thing I didn't like about it was if you didn't lay it exactly right, the lines of the weave would be crooked and it looked weird. It bothered me enough that I only left it in for a few weeks. Just use as little heat as possible. The focus hood is much flatter than the speed3 was so it shouldn't be that hard. And no you do not use any water. As far as I know, all the current vinyl you can buy is all dry application.

Tyellen, i just used avery gloss metallic grey. I get it locally from a place called metro restyling. Here is a link to their site.

Of course. I've had it up for sale since I took it off. It's just sitting in the garage in my way. Lol. Shoot me a pm.

Not in one piece. It's about 12 " not wide enough. So I will have a join.
Not a lot I can do as I can't afford what they want for 3 meter wide 3M.

Scratch that just brought some 3 meter wide better quality of the net.
