OK... so I have a 640W Kenwood 4-channel amp in my car. Whenever I shift gears, or at completely odd times, the amp loses power to it. The power is shortly after (1-2 seconds) restored.

This gets progressively worse, until it blows the ignition (+12V) fuse in my fuse box...

Any ideas? PLEASE help!

check your grounds. your ground wire should be making contact with BARE metal, not painted metal. make sure your power wire is still in good condition. make sure there are no cuts in it. also, where is your power wire ran to? the fuse box? dude, it better be ran to the battery!! and be at least 8gauge. you might be refering to the 'turn on' wire. if that is the case just trace your wire and check for breaks, fray or any other kind of damage. and make sure your connections are good[thumb]

It is run to the battery with an 8 guage cable, free of knicks, scratches, etc...

The remote-on wire is run to the +12 V Ignition wire.

As for the ground, it is connected to bare metal, I scratched away all of the paint before putting it on.

All connections appear to be ok...

This is really getting me frustrated.

im guessing that you "tapped" a fuse by shoving it down with 1 of the blades of the fuse. try getting a fuse tap. 5 bucks at advanced auto. also try using a different fuse location. i have all my stuff routed between the 2 power window fuses. tap both power window fuses with 1 wire and run your remote-on wire from that.

No no, here's how it's set up.

The remote-on wire runs off of the remote-on for the radio (just spliced in). I did not touch any of the fuses, the fuse blowing is just a side effect of something happening.

Do you think I should try doing as you suggested and going with the power windows instead?

nething is werf a shot. though your amp will turn on with the car, not the radio. i dont think that is a big deal though. if your using an aftermarket HU, than your shouldnt be having any probs. someone else should chime in. the remote-on is hardly pulling any voltage. i cant see why that would be the cause. double check the wire.
