since the hpp are geared more towards track/race. Wouldnt they only be more affective when they are hot? or is it because they are geared towards both... u can do it..

Well it shouldnt matter b/c we shouldnt be going over the speed limit n e ways... :p .. if we didnt go over the speed limit, any decent set of pads should be fine..

1badassfoci... unless ur really going to race on the tracks ect... the hps should be good. Imo

I cant find them on the ajusa.com place. I found the Street ones but not the HP+ ones. Help me?

I'm very happy with my Hawk HPS pads I put on a month ago or so..............

The HPS would be a much better pad for the street than the HP+. THe first few cold stops with the HP+, especially in a freeway panic stop scenario, could be nerve racking until some heat is built up in them. There's no initial bite which can scare someone not familiar with high performance pads. The HPS is, however, a very popular autocross pad.

Have you had both of these on your car? Just wondering. I need something with the best stopping power i can get. Low speed stops are fine for me right now....its the freeway ones that are really bad....and i also have to go down this VERY steep hill a couple times a week and when i get to the bottom i have to slow down from like 80 mph or so....then have to slow down hella and take a left turn at low speeds and its really bad....i almost crashed once cuz my brakes dont have good stopping power at high speeds...and my steering wheel and brake pedal shake hella. It sucks. So thats part of the reason why i need to know the best pads....also i may eventually take my car to the track to race it. So im just wanting the best stopping power right now. Get back to me.Thanks!

slow down then. and dont speed. lol.. but yeah i understand.. hills make you speed up... i bet the cops love to use radar on that spot.

im pretty sure that hte hps should be good for daily driving applications... including yours.. but thats my opinion... when you change ur brakes maybe u shoudl check your rear ones too. maybe they're worn out as well? so that could be why your stopping power is low

1badassfoci.... First you have to understand that Hawk only makes high performance brakes. They started out by making high end racing pads which even they will say are worthless on the street. To cover this end of the spectrum they created the HPS. And while it may be designated as their street pad its still many times better than anyones best OEM pad.

Just about any quality OEM pad "and shoe" should be able to handle the big hill situation you mentioned. Front pads are not the total solution, you need a good rear shoe, fresh brake fluid, and rotors and drums that are in good shape. If not replace them. Good braking results from a total package not bits and pieces.

If you're not hung up on big names, the Mintex front and rear combo is a very viable option. There are advantages in getting pads and shoes that were designed to work together (coefficents of friction etc.) My personel favorites are, however, Axxis or PBR (same company) Metalmasters. I used these on my rally car and I'm currently using them on my Miata. They're an amazing street pad that can be used in a wide variety of conditions. They're very popular in rally circles because they operate under a very broad temperature range and don't need to be heated up.

That's usually a sign of warped rotors. If you would like some replacement solid rotors, no slots/dimples, etc, check out Brembo Replacement. They're actually cheaper than Napa rotors. IMO, I think you should be good with some Hawk HPS pads and those rotors...

Some stainless lines would also help you out. But yeah, good solid rotors, Hawk HPSs.

1. you would spend too much money on things that you dont need or that are not necessary
2. you would get stuff that are a piece of s***
3. you wouldnt mod your car
4. if your car brakes you would spend too much money at the stealership to get it fixed or at a local shop for something you could have done by your self.
