So I got the motor mount insert in the mail the other day but need some installation tips/a guide from anyone that has done it... I have a lift available so keep that in mind, but just want tips on making the process as smooth as possible. Thanks!

When i was installing my FSwerks Race RMM, i just used some ramps on the front and made sure i had plenty of leverage when untorque and torque the bolts. When putting the mount back in i had to lubricate the mount and influence it a little bit with a mallet. Also, make sure that all holes lineup and you just slightly thread the bolts through, but with it being lubed that will be easy.

But with the Insert the process will be generally the same.

easy peasy install, takes longer to get the car up and off jack stands that it does to remove and install the insert. (well maybe not faster but pretty close, Its self explanatory once you see what your doing)

Just finished the install, took about 45min using ramps.
Definitely have to remove the mount bolted to the transmission, 5 bolts in all.
The hardest one to get to is the top one on the transmission mount.
Going back together was really simple and didn't take any more than just arms strength to move stuff around to line up.

Just dropped the whopping $13 (including shipping) on this little bad-boy...I mean..why not right? If its too stiff and transmits too much noise/vibes I can always remove it. I have never had an issue with the way this motor mount feels but I don't gun it at every stop light..but I may now!

Edit. Do you have to use some sort of special poly-grease for this to eliminate potential squeaking?

Received and installed. Took about an hour total. Put the car on ramps to do it. Just removed the 2 bolts for the mount and the 3 bolts holding the arm (not sure what that is) that connects it to the motor....there is no way I could see to wiggle it out without removing the arm. The motor moves v. easily so easy to line back up and install. Just pushed the mount in. I put it on the top side..not sure if that makes a diff. Started her up..no noticeable vibes that I could tell. Driving around, the 1-2 shift was noticeably "crisper". Great non-ricy stealth upgrade for $10.

Nice, good to hear! i should be getting mine in the next couple days. i figure it was worth trying out for $13 shipped. If i decide to go stiffer later then it's not like i wasted a bunch of money. really looking forward to getting mine installed.

I could probably do it quicker now and if my kids weren't in the garage [8D] The bolts weren't too tight and were easy to remove. I used a 15mm socket for the mount bolts themselves and a 13mm box-end wrench for the 3 on the arm..the clearance is a bit tight there.

Well worth the money. Stiffens it up without making it unbearable. Perfect daily driver mod.

Drove to work today (all highway cruising for 45 miles) - its not any different on the highway that I can tell in terms of NVH.

That is what I was thinking, autos always seem to vibe more at stops then a manual when you have the clutch in.

It's FINALLY in! WOW what a difference! It's like literally going from a grandma car to a peppy little hatch, love it! I was a little startled when first going creep speed right after install with how much vibration there was but that settled almost instantly... Anyway, it feels like this will take a off a half second in launch time just from not having to wait for the motor to flex back and lose traction. I simply cannot say it enough that if you have no kind of motor mount upgrade at all then you aren't driving a Focus at it's potential, period. It's an absolute MUST have!
