I'm using the excal2 with tunes by marcy motorsport.

He nailed the tune for my car very quickly, especially considering it was one of the first cammed duratecs.

He's in and out of the shop all of the time and is also doing things like drivablility tuning.

Focussport will have tunes soon and you can call them if you have questions and someone will answer the phone.......

I'm looking for drivability mostly, those hanging revs are annoying, and revvving through the roof when you start sucks too. Can he fix that

i wonder what the hells the difference between the X1 and X2? Do they work better together or no?

The 2 comes with a datalogger. 1 is just a flasher.

the differences are that the excal2 can datalog, hold tunes with user adjustable settings, scan and clear trouble codes, and I think that's about it. They both hold 3 custom tunes and flash through the obd2 port.

so which one is worth it? I think id rather have the X2 because of the codereader part. Whats the datalogging part about?

You can datalog what the ecu is doing if you have a laptop. This let's you send a log back to the tuner to further refine the tune.

you need a laptop??? how come it doesnt tell you this on any of the ads for it? WTF

They're working on standalone datalogging, but as of right now you need a laptop to datalog.

Well id rather see how fine tuned i can tune my car because pretty soon im gonna know how:)

what i don't understand is how Marcy Motorsport can give you a custom tune if I give him the performance mods that I have done so far. i tried emailing, but no answers yet. i'm seriously thinking about buying the xcal2 so that I can data log. Would I have to send my data to him so that he can send me a tune via email? Or is it just one generic tune. I have his intake and just bought the borla cat-back system. I just want them to work together and ecu tuned.

You tell him the mods and he knows what settings need to be changed to a pretty close degree. If there is anything lacking or wrong with the tune he can sometimes troubleshoot without the datalogging, but with logging it's a lot easier and can help get a perfect tune.

ok so I want to make sure I understnad this correctly. You purchade the x2 (machine) and then separately the tunes? Does the machine come with at least one tume?

Second, what everything can be changed by playing with this. I hear people talking about gas saving tunes and performace tunes etc... I am getting a little lost in it, but as an engine mod - I am thinking about it cause my main goal is to make the ene ine EFFICIENT - quieezing al lthe power it can give me without modifying its core (and jeopardizing hte reliability)

thanks
Igor
